Problems running Soldat on Crossover for Mac

Hi guys,
Been craving this game for a while now, and finally found it. Installed Soldat using crossover unsupported application and installation worked fine. Ran the game, but when I came to the part saying "press Esc to continue" I press escape then the game freezes.

Any suggestions? Would love to play this game again.

I just use a VMWare Fusion Win7 VM which works well. I've completely lost hope in Wine/Crossover supporting Soldat better.
