Quotes (not) to live by
« on: May 10, 2007, 01:06:52 pm »
Quote thread 2.0.  Simple.  Post quotes you think are funny/profound/awesome/etc.  Just don't make † lock another one of these.
To sum up my point: We had a multipage debate about toilet padding. (Putting TP in the water so you don't get splashed.)
And we still don't know if dead guys can keep a stiffy.

Well, there's already one quote I want to add. It's in your topic:
...  Just don't make † lock another one of these ...
He did his job on the locked one, so I found it rather funny to see this quote. The reason for the lock was 'necroposting' (Reviving an old topic).

Anyway, what's the difference between making a new thread and posting to an old one?  Seems logical to keep related discussion in one topic.

Only anime shows I've felt any interest in over the years are Pokemon (original TV series) and various hentai.
so clearly jgrp is a goddamn anime connoisseur. his opinion might as well be law here.

Let me quote myself to answer this question:

<JazzyJoe-Sexeh> posting in an old thread like that in the lounge is like trying to enjoy stale chips. You might get some of the good taste but its just not the same... so open a new bag :D

Little girls are like jeans. They look good and they're easy to slip into but as they grow older and get torn in places you have to get new ones.

Another quote from Patton:

No poor dumb bastard ever won a war by dieing for his country.
This is picked from his famous speech, which is full of such quotes.

Google's three quotes of the day:

Man is the only animal that laughs and weeps, for he is the only animal that is struck with the difference between what things are and what they ought to be.
  - William Hazlitt

The difference between a democracy and a dictatorship is that in a democracy you vote first and take orders later; in a dictatorship you don't have to waste your time voting.
  - Charles Bukowski

You don't stop laughing because you grow old. You grow old because you stop laughing.

A stupid man's report of what a clever man says is never accurate because he unconsciously translates what he hears into something he can understand.
-- Bertrand Russell

The world would be such a better place if this wasn't true...
