Config for BE bans
« on: May 01, 2008, 12:42:08 pm »
It should be possible to set the Bantime for different BE ban-reasons
for example:
client not responding 1 minute ban
directd3 hook 1 hour ban

its a fact that BE kicks people that arent hackers, disabling BE for that is no realistic solution imo. however banning normal players for an hour because they had a lagspike isnt nice either.

It might have to modify how BattlEye is setup.  I think BattlEye at the moment might have only a ban time and no customizable settings for what reason.  But it'll be worth it, I support this.

I think someone should discuss this with $able though first.

i did talk with sable about it. he said that it would need to be a collaboration between BE and the soldat server, because as of now BE doesnt actually ban, and the server doesnt check which reason the ban is. so it would need to come from both sides.

Then how come sometimes I get kicked by BattleEye and still be able to rejoin? (this happened on Toumaz's Fistbox server)

Because the Fistbox script doesn't give a feck whether or not you're actually banned and let's everybody in.

Either that or Corrupted Memory.

Ohh... okay.

By the way, I love that server.
