A "boxed"  CTF map, a little like equinox on the bottom, a little like viet in the middle, and the top...I'm not so sure now...

But I like it. Coloring looks default, scenery is phenomenally default-new. The long drop on both sides of the map reminds me of ctf_amush, perhaps that's why I should like it.

Also...a little cosmetic note: What's up with the straight ropes hanging on the bottom of that topmost platform in the middle? They don't look....natural. But I'm not complaining.

I'll get to work on the gameplay bit when I'm more awake.

Wow dude! that is an awesome looking map! That must have taken days of hard and dedicated work to complete.  Where are the flags located though lol?

This is why I want to try a more free form style of mapping.  Haven't play tested it yet, but it looks good at a glance.  8)

Layout is weird, while still very original, still very weird.  I think the lower route will fall out of game since how the spawns are placed, players will rush through the middle platform and grab the flag.  It takes too long to go through the lower route to cap the flag since on so much faster the other route is.

I think the polygon count is high for a map of this size, 400 can be cut down to around 280-350.  Scenery is pretty good, the only things that bother me is that a real waterfall scenery should be used instead of camonet.bmp  Also the lights don't match in a jungle environment.

The setting of the map is not supposed to be entirely natural.  Let's just assume that humans have temporarily settled there a while ago and decided to set up lights to illuminate the underground tunnels and use ropes for netting (which has broken down over time) to store possessions.  Kinda BS explanation, I know.

The bottom route is not for attacking but rather for escaping.  Also it provides more safety than the other routes.  Think Cobra.

What?  You don't appreciate creativity in scenery placement?  Bigfalls has a waterfall made of clouds and fog2's (they're not even colored blue!), but no one's complaining.  Besides, one of Wraithlike's self-imposed rules for creating this map forbids him from using any custom scenery or textures.

I kinda agree.  I know some places that could use a little polygon trimming, but if it doesn't lag, why bother?

Thanks for your comments.  Keep 'em coming. 8)

Download in first post is broken right now, please re-download. When EA is back, he'll fix it up. It's just the TMS had re-named the file, and that wasn't nice.

Fixed again.  All links should work now. :-[

EDIT: @Sir Jeremy and w00t, the flags are at the very ends of the middle route.

I'm guessing the flags are either at the poly above the lower level, or at the indent at the near highet point.

Invariably, you should leave a few important things, like flag spawns in a screen shot...

hell yeah! default scenery and texture FTW!
amazing trees. My favorite scenery usage is in the center left, jungletree2 (used as cols) +jungleflora combination. The gameplay seems weird, with most of the peopple going middle. But the down way is very protected, nice.
Ps.: congrats for the camonet waterfall. GREAT JOB!

Layout is weird, while still very original, still very weird. I think the lower route will fall out of game since how the spawns are placed, players will rush through the middle platform and grab the flag.
If the match is 3on3 I would send one player at bottom route cos it's hard to guard and fast to run on.

The layout reminds ctf_X and in fact this kind of permutation has been in my mind. Anyway, I think this kind of crossroads is pretty new in soldat, where both teams attacks from top to bottom and meet each other at center of map. The map is very nicely done and im sure it's giving difference in default maps. The top route isn't very needed. Maybe scenery work could have been different, its made good, but it's jungle like most of the other maps. The map is pretty challenging to waypoint but it's done Ok also but always could be better :P... Good job guys, hopely this makes to public servers.

Never though of that use for them.
