Joker: An Apology
« on: August 22, 2008, 02:47:24 pm »
Background:  IMO, Joker [Tesla] is a good player, and does a remarkable job tearing me a new one with either the m79 or mp5 over on Fracs.  He also has a gostek worked up that looks about as much like the Joker as you can do, and has a bunch of catch-phrases from Batman:TDK bound as taunts.  So he has my respect for having the complete package, rather than just being a n00b in a costume.

Last night, I'm having an awesome time over on "Elite: One Shots", when Joker [Tesla] logs on.

I immediately recall that he usually manages to be in character to the point that the constant taunts and laughing really gets under my skin; I don't begrudge him that, but it does get to me.  So to give a friendly jab back at him for that, I put up a kick vote (hey, it's a pub match after all), expecting to get a few laughs from anyone who would bother to read it:

Reason: Leveled Gotham General

To this, he retorted "Fear?". I pounded F11 and replied "YES"...

... and then the vote percentage was met and he was booted from the server.  Oops.  :-[

So this one's for you Joker.  I'm sorry about that; I had no idea the other goons logged in would actually kick you on what was obviously a joke.  I'll stick to the chat window for now on.

Just remember what ol' Jack Burton does when the earth quakes, the poison arrows fall from the sky, and the pillars of Heaven shake.  Yeah, Jack Burton just looks that big old storm right in the eye and says, "Give me your best shot. I can take it."

I hope you're not being sarcastic. :) Granted, I was a little glib since we're talking about a video game here, plus the circumstances are a bit humorous.  But I mean it when I say that I'm sorry - I don't kid about that kind of a thing.

Yeah, I'm sure a 24 hour kick from one of hundreds of Soldat servers had him in tears.
Personally, I think you're taking it a bit overboard. If it had happened to me I'd just laugh even harder knowing my sacrifice was in the name of humor. It's just a game. Why so serious?
I attend grammar school, last grade, and ignorance is all around me. Well, good for them. Ignorance is bliss.

Lol, nice one.
It isn't that big of a deal though. And this 'Joker' probably doesn't even use the forums.

I see what you did there.

Eh.  It's really a matter of sportsmanship - a personal code of conduct thing if you will, nothing more. :)

Back in 131 I joined a server with the name Batman.
Someone left the server and came back as Joker.
Someone else left and returned as Robin.

We fought crime!
