Maptesting team is up

What are we?
For now, we are testing soldat maps only for fun. In the future I hope we'll have power to affect on custom gather maps and also I see that we could be listened when developers are deciding default maps.

We don't arrange just maptests. We also give hints to improve maps. Feel free to ask.

About maptests:
Maptests are usually 3on3 ctf. They are arranged when we are interested to do it, so if you are willing to test your map, idle our channel.

How can you join maptesting team?
By idling channel.

If you can get yourself to quakenet you need to write to the main panel next kind of lines:

/join #soldat.mapping

Well in anycase you can choose from the server list "quakenet" and join for exmaple to "quakenet random server" When you are able to get yourself to quakenet just write the line meantion up and vola! you get yourself to channel of maptesting team.

If you want to change your nick at mirc you need to write

/nick <insert nick here>

/ <-- starts always command

If you succesfully get yourself to there I think there are some people who will teach you more.

that sucks, it sounds like others on your ISP abused crap so now they impose extra restricitions on users from your ISP.

That's not true. In order to connect to an IRC server (quakenet) and join a channel (this one) you don't need to touch your ports at all. As Bricks said, this is probably his ISP getting in the way.

any way to solve that? I remember some day I could connect and chat without any problem... but mIRC didn't like me after all.

G-line is the same as a host ban, so mibbit would allow you to enter, since it uses a separate host than what you're used to on mIRC.
