You know how in Soldat grenades explode on impact when they hit a scenery or enemy's head? Of course that's cool and effective and makes grenades much easier to use but that's not how grenades really work (at least ordinary grenades). I think Soldat could use an option to change this setting. This would be a great addition to realistic servers or TrenchWars.

I'd like to hear your thoughts on this topic - Cons? Pros? Where, when and how would it be useful? Should this be implemented at some point? Is there anything you don't like about the grenades we have now?

I in my opinion like how the grenades are currently. 

Dont real grenades explode on impact too..at least some of them, I believe.
Even though it's an interesting idea L[0ne]R, I think people like how the nades are currently. ;)
Why don't you add a poll or something so people can vote. ;)

Option: Yes.
Forced: No.

Being turned on it would be a major nerf to grenades, but being an option is obviously a better choice. Maybe just a WM option
Explode on Contact, 1=yes, 0=no. Something like that.

anyway I can see its purpose in trenchwars and what have you, but I don't like the idea at all for normal

I would like this idea if you would be able to 'time' the explosion by holding the throw button like in some FPS games(the longer you hold it the closer it will explode when you throw it), would make grenades more tactical.

^You know, that could actually work. How would you throw it different distances, though? Maybe flicking the mouse in the direction you want to throw it, and the speed at which you do so determines the speed the grenade flies...

Would be nice to try out just to see if it's feasible; if it was done right it could give a more interactive feel to nade throwing, but if is was under sensitive or too much so it could ruin nades.

Oh, I never said that the original nades suck and should be replaced with ones I mentioned. I'm totally happy with the ones we have now, but I think there should be more customisation of how they work. Lots of Soldat's features can be set to be more realistic (fall damage, weapon recoil), but there are no options for grenades.

It's sad that coments like this one are in every thread that mentions "realistic" features.
Yes, Soldat is not supposed to be realistic, BUT it has real guns, somewhat real physics, bullet drop-off, ricochet, realistic mode, those kinds of things that a completly "unrealistic" shooter wouldn't have. A LOT of things in Soldat are realistic, so why not to have few more?

I like your idea, definitely. First time when I played soldat, I've always hated when I was hiding in bunker, then they nade me and kill me; usually, I said "hacker!!". Hmm.... But the body part suggestion is similar to my suggestion...

well, i would f11 cause it would ruin my beautiful kamikaze tactics
but it would help on some other occasions, like hiding behind coliders, so its 50% good 50% bad
but because it would be adjustabe for the nades to blow on impact, i f12 this one

Could be. I've read the other post and IMO it's not as clear about how this feature should be added. I guess people understood it differently from what author had in mind.
