Well I was wondering if we could have a search bar if you wanted to play a specific map say in single player on top of the map list, so you don't have to go looking for the map you frustratingly want. It would help and benefit alot of players because all you have to do is type in the map name, it it finds the map your searching for.

And also, when searching for a specific server, could we also have a search bar there to so you can just type in the specific server and find it, it would be a lot faster and more helpful.

And if someone says "we don't need that for servers because we can sort servers alphabetically" I will say that many servers have .: :., -= =-, !, #, [sometaghere] or other non-alphabetical characters in the beginning of their names, so sorting doesn't solve everything.

Can you add a poll, please?

I wasn't talking about in-game map voting, rather what scarface09 first said.

The search would have to be like Google's - in that it suggests / ignore all the {}!@# characters, because all the servers/ map use such weird names.

something to make it more easy to go through maps wouldn't hurt.
I only use /votemap though

Currently we have /votemap <mapname>

But as said in ANOTHER thread, it is very inconvenient to search through over lots of maps (even just te default ones), and if you were to use /votemap, you'd need to know the map's name 100%. You could make mistakes.

BTW, I don;t think this is for IN GAME, but when you are setting up a game or searching for servers.

In-game search would also be useful when you try to find particular map to make a map vote.

This will make it a lot easier to search for favorite servers and maps. (so easy to find, for example, all the !elite or Leo's servers in just seconds, yay). Though server menu needs more than just a search box (it also needs a better filter menu), but search box alone would be a great addition.

A wildcard type search would be nice instead of an exact match.
Also make sure the search isn't case sensitive.

well for servers, you can just type in key letters while in the lobby (make sure the list is active, so single-click on any server, then start typing the name and it should come up most of the time)

But map search would be useful.

Great idea, makes soldat so much more easier to use. That /votemap <> crap is like the stone age.
