What else could it have been anyway? All you do is deal with inspecting rocks and earth stuff with microscopes and related equipment, you scientist you!

If that was a random guess, good guess.  But I'm guessing it's not the type of microscope you were thinking about.

We were using an electron microscope, which shoots an electron beam at samples to image them (and other stuff).  The sample got so charged up it emitted it's own electrons, and gave us an image of the inside of the instrument.  Thought it looked pretty nifty.

That's all I work with, yes.  And it's a lot more than rocks now..

Yeah, definitely not a microscope I was thinking of. Those things are pretty huge. I thought it would be those toy microscopes with the different scopes you can switch around.

Yeah, the round triangle in the middle looks kinda like a toilet seat, but everything surrounding it removes the possibility of it being a toilet.
