[UPDATE: 05.11.2006 - 15:30 GTM+1] Anti-Cheating-Network
« on: November 05, 2006, 12:02:32 pm »
[Translation - http://forum.selfkill.com/viewtopic.php?t=7032]

That's the project:

0.: All players have to register on our homepage
1.: Cheater will be banned
2.: Cheater's name & IP will be saved (in an online-database)
3.: Everytime a player joins the server there will be checked if the name or IP is notifed as cheater
4.: Positive => Cheater will be kicked
5.: After certain time (1-3 months?) the cheater will be deleted from the database

Just submit your opinions...

An alternative could be there are "Global Admins" who have to record a demo which they can send and prove there has cheated someone. The "Global Admins" can make bans for a month or they could acquit the "cheater". You could also register "Server-Admins" allowing to make bans only for 1-2 days.

Banned users could try to prove that they aren't guilty by downloading the demo, too.

=> I know there are needed many supporters, admins etc. - but it is needed - also if you can't avoid human mistakes.

Progress:
# MySQL-Server configured
# Server started cause of needed test. If you're interested in having an account => PM me.

The Server: (@ready)

# Dial-In of the Tool to a Server
# Log-In for an server with own needed login-name and password for the server
# Automatically update of the IP / port of the server
# Now it's possible to avoid the problem with the "dynamic" IPs (of the users)
# Cheking the Player-Informations (nick + IP)
# Player will be called attention, that he will be kicked during the next 20 seconds, if the datas of the server aren't suitable with the player's datas
# There are "Global Admins", who can ban on every server, and "Server Admins", who are able to administrate "only" on their own server
# Global Admins can't be banned - if it happens anyway, the Global Admin's profile will be repaired at an ACN-server by the next dial-in.
# All ways of "Major"s will be kicked. They won't also be available as nick
# "Server Admins" can ban only 2 days. If they won't send a demo of the supposed cheater to the "Global Admins", the play will have a clean slate - as nothing happened anytime.
# The server checks, if the player runs the ACN.Client
# The server reacts to !admin and tries to reach a Server Admins
# It will be saved in the database, on which ACN-Server the player is playing

The Client

# Database with Hacks and Cheats arranged. AnTti (a german player) takes care about it.

The Homepage

only Domain http://www.acn.cx.la has been saved.

This should really be in some other section, because this is highly Soldat-related.

And great idea/initiative, by the way.

I can't still understand this stuff. I busted Busterblader, showed videos, showed some logs of our discusions.

Still these people let him be an admin of this stuff?

In topic there is: "Global Admins are needed (trustworth etc)"

Trustworth? Pardon? A dude who just caught cheating is trustworth for these guys? I just CAN NOT understand this...

Heh, I would like to listen how you "solved" this...

*Edit: I see you use a client, reminds me of the HL anti-cheat effort. Interesting.

you must register with dynamic ip-provider (e.g. dyndns.org).
if your domain.dyndns.org is not same as the IP of the joined player => player will be kicked.

if you need to register, like authing, servers that use the network will quickly end up empty because people are just... lazy. i'd rather support the idea with global admins
I like to have one Martini
Two at the very most
Three I'm under the table
Four I'm under the host

Well, if people need to register, who would want to play on hackerless server, if it neede some registering? New version of Soldat is coming, which hopefully kills all the current working hacks.

People will rather host their own server and ban hackers if they see any.
