ctf_stacked (fixed da roof)
« on: November 24, 2006, 02:48:45 am »
Description: My first attempt at multitexture. A desert warfare themed map. Flags are located in the left and right bottom corners of the map. Colliders in the sun and various other places.

Custom Scenery: Yes

Waypoints: No

Scenery from various, thanks to E_A's ctf_grainz for inspiration.

Enjoy!

UPDATE: Closed the roof off, maybe Keron will wypt it now?

Colliders in the sun and various other places.

Why would a soldier collide into the sun!? That just doesn't make sense! :P Aside from that it looks good and the layout is nice. :) I do find multi-textured maps tend to look really flat without good polygon lighting though (which this appears to lack), and symmetry is never a good thing. You should also be aware that players can and will M79 jump into that "bucket" at the top which will make getting to flag carriers a major pain for non-M79 users. I do love that ship mast graphic, especially in a desert map such as this. :)

Colliders mean that bullets are stopped, but players' movement is not.
I put colliders in the sun to help prevent spray.

that spray preventage is totally unnecessary, i think it even makes the map worse.

apart from that very nicely done, i'm in real conflict which map to choose for my MotW nomination ;)
I like to have one Martini
Two at the very most
Three I'm under the table
Four I'm under the host

lol, what's with the top now? :P Why don't you just seal in the ceiling completely? I think it'd look better that way
Then, perhaps I'll dl. and wypt.

I knew that and that's what I meant, but my sleep deprived mind didn't write that out. :) Still didn't make sense to have them there, at least using the sun as a graphic for an anti-spray measure located on the field. :P
