I find PolyWorks much easier to use, it also takes up much less space on my Harddrive than MapMaker does.

Yes, but these two programs deal with mapping and you're asking us which program is better for mapping.

PolyWorks hands-down because it has more features than Mapmaker.  Although you will have a hard time learning how to use it, it certainly pays off.

I decided to remove my signature, since jrgp was picking on me by sending me annoying PM's. - Chrono, Wednesday July 27, 2007

I use both. PW is for main working and MM+ I use for quick changes after playtesting rounds since it loads and closes much faster, and is slightly more stable (tho' PW seems to be gaining on it in this field :)).

I use Polyworks, because I'd be stuck with the basic non-regged mapmaker (is it mm+?). But I don't really understand the whole "OmG leik polyworks iz 2 hard 2 uze.
Hepl me!1!!!!!!one!!!EleVen!!!1!!shift!!1!!!!!!!."

I find it very simple.

ive never really thought polyworks was hard, i just realize that im not very artistic and thats why when i make a map with mapmaker or polyworks it looks..unique.

Polyworks.
I don't get why people say it's hard to use, it's way more intuitive than the standard mapmaker or MM+. All of the actions are on a single panel, for gawds sake.

I liked map maker, just always made sense to me... I make all my maps in it first, then do like poly shading and the really hard details in polyworks. thats just me, though  ;D

Wraithlike, there is no such thing as a "non-regged mapmaker."

MM+ (a.k.a. MapMaker Plus, a fan update on the less stable one by Marcinkowski), is totally free ;)

Polyworks, even though I'm not a mapmaker.
Just need to take time to learn how to use it.
