For me its anywhere around 6-12 players (usually) any less is kinda boring, more is just a complete spew of bullets and nades and it doesn't take much skill because all you have to do is shoot around aimlessly and you get a kill.

5-7, excluding myself. Six players and a correctly adjusted respawn ( 3-5 secs ) is just enough to make most of the ctf / dm maps fun, with a 4v4 suitable for the bigger ones ( like B2b, Laos ). That way it's just rewarding to get a triple kill and get away with the flag, since each enemy player poses as much of a threat on gather as a smaller pack of public pros would on any other server ( with more players ).

Sometimes I chose to play in the "early hours" cause I like calmness - 6-7 players.
Most of the day CTF servers are a full orgeh.
And you can't do nothing about it...

Generally I only tend to play gathers, 3v3 CTF. Occasionally I'll pop into a pub.
10 for CTF
12 for INF

You have obviousely no clue, always get owned, or have never played with more players. "Shooting around aimlessly" doesn't get you anywhere.

The only servers I play are Leo's, so up to 16 players is fine with me. The more, the better.

At least ten in R/S.

Otherwise it doesn't matter - as long as teams are as even as possible.

My favourite is 3 vs 3 CTF. I tend to like calmer games rather than , say, a 6 vs 6 because it tends to get too busy xD

I always hang at Leo's, so it's 16, but for gathers the best amount of players is 3vs3, definitely.

I beg to differ, it makes it easier for you to die because of all the bullets/nades going everywhere so u can just throw a nade and someone somewhere is gonna hit it.
