For me, i have the mouse scroll as both my reload (pressing) and weapon change (scrolling).
What to do you others have?
-
numpad 0 for grenades
numpad 1 for prone
numpad 4 for reload
delete for throw weapon
thats about it I believe
-
I use the standard controls.
My middle mouse button (Mouse3) is my Ventrilo key, allows me to shoot and talk at the same time.
Grtz, DePhille
-
Spacebar is throw weapon. Otherwise all default.
-
up down left right... numpad 0 for prone...ctrl for nade....numpad 1 for reload (im a robot when it comes to reload...i know exactly when theyre gonna die and my finger is waiting.)...standard mouse controls, right clicky jet left fire... mouse whell change weapon....is that all of em?
-
space - prone
Ctrl (left) - throw weapon
q - change weapon
e - throw grenade
and standard wasd
-
Default ftw! I tried that spacebar throw Toumaz, but I couldn't hit anything for about a month until I changed it back.
-
I use default aswell.
-
up down left right to move (down crouches, up jumps). Prone is CTRL. Nades are shift. reload is mouse 3, firing is mouse 1, mouse 2 is jetpack. Im thinking about making mouse 3 (the wheel no the click) to switch weapons and change throw to enter. chat is `

Why don't you just use the voice activation option in ventrilo. It makes things a lot easier as you don't have to worry about pressing any buttons at all.
-
Really only changed 2 things. Put my nade key as shift, and my throw weapon as the space bar. Works out well for me, other then the fact that sometimes my shift buttons sticks and causes me to throw an extra nade.
-
why the hell i always used the up/down/left/right keys to move? dunno, i move my player that away since 1.2.1. of course the other keys like trowing nades, change wep bla bla are next to them
-
I used to use the arrow keys for about a month when I started playing, but back then I didn't know you could use the number pad so I had to leave all my other controls as default. So I used my left hand for the arrow keys, and the right for the mouse. That led to me not being able to use my nades, drop/change weapons, and all that stuff because I would need to use my left hand which was already used in the arrow keys to move my soldat. So when I played, I only used my primary weapon and nothing else.
-
My chat is enter, my teamchat is the backslash, and my prone is space.
I used the to use the arrow keys before I encountered the same issues as cappy, except my default keys were moved in proximity to the arrow keys. But there was still that big space between up and end if I wanted to toss a nade etc.
-
I use all of the default controls except the spacebar is used for throwing my weapon. Not only does it feel more comfortable when I use my knife, I don't have to take off my left index finger from D when I'm moving. I've actually gotten better with it over the past year. I cannot imagine going back now. :)

What kind of keyboard do you have?

That's not wierd. That's extremely practical. =)
In addition to that...
weapon throw with the mouse's thumb button
prone with space
nade with ctrl
also chat is 'y' and teamchat 'u' for some reason.
-
I have all default, except space is my grenade and left shift is my reload. I find it an excellent use for my otherwise-useless fifth finger.

my fifth finger uses SHIFT too, but for prone...
-
I use shift for Ventrillo or teamspeak :)
all defaults, space for Knife throwing ! its the best !
-
z >>> prone
c >>> change weapon
space bar >>> throw weapon (knife etc)
w >>> throw grenate
shift >>> jump
(warcraft keys :P better so I dont mess up with my warcraft ones, this are very similar)
-
default :( i tried using centre mouse button for knife throw but keeps forgetting
-
Quick Question, has anyone tried using a gamepad or joystick?
-
Spacebar is for nades, mouse wheel is for changing weapon, and mouse wheel click is for throwing the weapon.

Mine is rather similar, just clicking the scroll is for using jetpack and scrolling for changing weapon. Left mouse button shoots, right one throws grenade and otherwise it is the regular WASD + X for prone by default.
-
I didn't know you could use the mouse wheel for soldat. :o I'm going to try to mess around with my controls now.
-
I have space to prone
Otherwise default
-
How on earth do you use a joystick to play Soldat?
-
You plug it into your computer then use it to move the soldat...Must be a bit weird though...
-
space = prone
mouse wheel = throw weapon
shift = ventrilo
the rest is default
-

Use the joystick for moving and the mouse for aiming.
Though I must say this only works well in the 3rd dimension. Might be a bit hard to get in the 2nd.

What kind of keyboard do you have?
A standard QWERTY keyboard. Why? Nothing weird about my configuration... try it yourself. Since my left thumb never does anything with the default configuration, using it for space to throw frees up time and it feels much better anyways.
-
Immediately when I started playing, I configured my movement keys to WASD so that all keys were close-by. I have shift for grenade, F for throw, E for reload, CTRL for prone, T for chat and Y for team chat. Left mouse click for shooting, right mouse click for jets, and scroll button for switching weapons.
The scroll button really gives the feeling of cycling through your primary and secondary.
-
for me scroll on the mouse wheel is change weapon and press is drop. rest is default.
-
space - chat
left Shift - team chat
scroll wheel - change weapon
press wheel - reload
The rest as default.
-
A = right
L = up
Q = down
. = down
Alt + f4 = shut soldat down
-
my controls are F**ked up. its because i have a ball mouse. a mouse with a ball in the middle. so it is hard.
i have throwing weapon with the shift
jet pack with capslock
nade is c
and walking is ad
w and s and x is jump crouch and prone
switching wepon with the right mouse button
-
I used to use the arrow keys for movement and the numpad for everything else besides shoot and jetpack, but now I only use defaults and that makes things a ton easier + I used Mouse3 to throw a grenade
-
I use standart scheme, but F is changed to spacebar.

Would't that get in the way of your shooting and aim?
