Sorry i left my interest in this post!

ok so after a lot of play testing and such i came to this.
It has nothing to do with scripting thats for  sure... Were not triggering anything onmapchange.
Flags are taken, everything gets broken you know the thing.
I'm attaching one of the maps this occurs on. I changed the map a bit to fit within the server and renamed it then compiled its pms.
(still doesn't happen all the time btw)

Let me know anything!

you shouldnt use change map with /nextmap, cuz then it usually bugs. i have a random-map script and when i change it with that i usually dont have the error again. or well.. at least not all the time ^^

im not using /nextmap. Bugs with a fresh reboot aswell. Really seems to be the map. Might have something to do with polyworks?

its oh so random. What is causing the map load 32 error, is it a server error?
And what is it?
Im gonna try recompiling maps with another version of polyworks aswell!
Need this fixed :/

its not map specific so recompiling wont matter a thing. its a problems with the server (windows) not loading the map for whatever reason. the map you uploaded worked fine twice when i tried to play it, so obviously its not map specific..

btw where do you get 'map load 32 error' from? ive heard it before but ive never seen it in console/logs?

Yes, it's really weird and not to mention very annoying. Especially when spkka and I are not around and people actually have to vote for new maps when everything is glitching.

Code: [Select]
(01:56:34) From: Engineer, To: General[1]
(01:56:35) Engineer now 1 slots free.
(01:56:38) OnLeaveGame(), ID: 3, Team: 1
(01:56:40) 151.204.129.175:50543 requesting game...
(01:56:40) File request: maps/ttw_ColdMorning.PMS
(01:56:42) Error: Could not load map (ttw_ColdMorning)
(01:56:43) Error: Could not load map (ttw_ColdMorning)
(01:56:43) Error: Could not load map (ttw_ColdMorning)
(01:56:43) Error: Could not load map (ttw_ColdMorning)
(01:56:43) Error: Could not load map (ttw_ColdMorning)
(01:56:43) Error: Could not load map (ttw_ColdMorning)

Worst part is that it's actually starting to become quite common on the server.

spkka when u were running the trenchwar server u had just as many bugs. only linux servers are good at loading custom maps.
and also the more people on the server, the more chance it bugs (this doesnt mean it wont bug when its empty, tho)

But why is the windows version so buggy? Was it not tested properly or something?
I mean, it happens so often that you'd think it'd show up during test trials.

i guess they dont test custom maps thoroughly when testing new servers. this bug has been around for pretty damn long so yea, youd think theyd fix it soon.
until then, get linux.

yea, i could be wrong, thats why i said 'i guess'. but youre saying you did test it thoroughly, and you didnt get the map load error? that would be really interesting. so far i havent talked to anyone running a windows server with custom maps without map errors.

Map load errors generally have to do with file read permissions or other programs accessing them. Or lack of RAM/video memory.

Its not map specific, so it hasnt got to do with file permissions.

The owner of my server is actually not using it anymore, because hes already renting another one, this meaning there are basicly no other apps running on the server, also i dont see what kind of program could be using PMS files.
Also 1 of my current linux servers used to be windows, and there was literally nothing running on it other than system processes and the soldatserver. guess why we converted it to linux.

The last windows server used to host about 6 soldatservers where it is running only 2 now, so i also doubt it is a lack of RAM.

Maybe i could run some debug mode to see why this is happening? i can replicate this error within a minute.

Would you be able to create me an account on that server so I can test it out with some custom build soldatserver's?

Map load errors generally have to do with file read permissions or other programs accessing them. Or lack of RAM/video memory.

Maybe it's the same soldatserver accesing the map twice, once for actually loading it, and another to send it to whoever is requesting it. It always happens in my server when the map is being loaded and someone is requesting the file, so maybe it makes sense.
