FAQ
(well, more like an Anticipated FAQ)

What is this about?
There hasn't really been a survey of a weapon balance before, and it takes a long time to browse through the many posts in the Weapon Balance Discussions forum to determine what the general thoughts of each weapon or the weapon balance in general is like. So I thought I'd try a Weapon Balance Survey to compile together the views of the community regarding the current balances.

This survey in particular is aimed at the 1.5.1 Beta Weapon Balance. If you have not tried out the 1.5.1 Beta balance, or you have not played the 1.5.1 Beta, please do so first before taking this survey.

Why should I take it?
Because your opinion is what matters! I mean, we aren't going to see your votes with your name on it, but your input may have an influence on the next weapon balance. The more people who do it, as well, the more accurate the results become in discerning which weapons need to be tweaked. And it'll only take a couple of minutes!

Why do you need my e-mail address?
I don't, really, but in a mild attempt to stop people from submitting multiple surveys without me knowing, I'm assigning each survey response to the e-mail that you give. A bonus to this is that you can come back at any time during the survey period and take the survey again.

The website will only e-mail you for confirmation on your survey response, or if you wish to do it again, to remove your survey response.

Okay, I did the survey.

Does the confirmation really work? When I clicked the link, I merely got redirected to the first page (though with a different link), it doesn't tell me if my confirmation was properly made.

It should say on that page that your survey was confirmed in bold letters, although you won't notice it if you just think that it's the front page. Doesn't matter now, as long as you clicked on the link, everything should be good.

Come on, guys, there's nothing conclusive to pull out of 39 responses, so more people need to do the survey! And make sure you confirm it!

Lots of people still don't play the beta, and of the people that do, many haven't seen this survey.

I started taking it, but when I reached question 15, (which version´s wep balance was the best) I really could not think of an answer, and also the question can´t be skipped, so I quit the survey. This question for me (and maybe other questions for other people) are too specific, and since I dont play soldat every day for years and years, it´s really difficult to answer such a question without it being a random answer (for example, I have played for many years but at some point did not play for a year or so, so theres no way I´ll remember how the wep balance of that old version compared to the new), which I thought is pointless to give. So I think maybe you would get more results if questions could be skipped. I really want to improve soldat with my input, but it seems to me this survey is made with only HARDCORE everyday players in mind, and that leaves out the majority of players I think.
I eat EFCs for breakfast (with a lot of ketchup ...)

Well, not really, I am not one of those "hardcore" players.

Also ValiS, since you said it was difficult to see which weapon's balance was the best, I'll post up here the weapon balances from 1.2.1 to the current 1.5.1 beta balance. Then you can more or less judge the balances even if you don't play a lot. (hey, I never played 1.2.1 before, started Soldat at 1.3.0, never took notice of the weapons balance till about 1.4.0, and only joined the forums in 1.4.2 ya know)

Also, you can give a random answer for question 15, because question 16 asks you to explain your answer in question 15. You can then write in question 16 that you couldn't make a decision and that it was a random choice since the question couldn't be skipped. Besides, you can always go back to the previous question.

Yes, I keep a log of all weapon balances from 1.2.1 onwards.

Dont get me wrong, I do play almost every day, some days more some days just a round. Thanks for  the numbers, but I really dont have the motivation to crunch them. I mean I dont want to sound like an ignorant kid but soldat is not about numbers (In some ways of course it is, but I mean if I wanted to look at a lot of numbers if would pick up book-keeping  ;D ) and I am not able to deduce the feel of the game from wep values. Its also difficult to answer which are my primary weps if I use pretty much all of them (which can be viewed as a compliment to the balance). Thanks for triyng to help me, but dont bother with the stats. Im still gonna take the survey again and "skip" that question.
I eat EFCs for breakfast (with a lot of ketchup ...)

Alright then, though you could take the numbers posted here and copy it into your weapons.ini file (make a backup first) and then try it out with bots to get a basic feel :)

Because saw's actually useless even after that buff, but we still want to make it have unlimited ammo anyway. The reason why MM originally added a reload to the saw was because of saw camping, but now saw camping isn't really that effective anyway.
