I've an idea : make an angle of ~120 degress for "sight range"
now it sux : if someone is attacking you from up you sometimes loose him from your sight, same if from lower
<I mean straight like this:
@ <--- you
@ <--- enemy
hope you'll understand what I have on mind xD >

don't udnerstand...explain better...

i think what he means is 120 (240 total) degrees in each direction you're looking as opposed to 90 degrees (180 total).
Personally there's a much better way of doing that! instead of makig it based on the directino you;re lookgin (either left or right) make it be based on the direction of your cross-hair. so if you're aiming up you can see everything that's up...

Omg. I mean that you said there xD based on crosshair
Edit : poll added.

I've always appealed to this idea; being able to see everything on one side of your soldat just because you're facing that side, regardless of where exactly, doesn't seem very realistic to me ;)
-
Eh i don't get the point of this. You mean we shall add that you see everything of one side of the soldat. Or the more realistic up down looking? Well my opinion is that you shall look up and down by aiming (ain't you doing that already?).
Anyway that's Yes on the poll? IsnĀ“t it?
-
Yes... in Realistic, you cannot see enemies behind you. This is taking it a step even further and recommending that even if you are facing a direction, if an enemy is drastically below or above your cursor, you cannot see him even when you are facing the direction he's at, like an angle of view

I'll do it in a bit more detail.
The red cone going from my Soldat to the cursor is his "field of view"
Now, if realistic mode were ON, then I wouldn't be able to see Joe Bot in the yellow circle.
What he's proposing is that, if realistic were on, and if I turned my cursor toward Joe Bot's location (where he would normally in realistic be invisible to me), I'd be able to see him regardless of the bunker roof between us, if he were in that red cone. That would apply everywhere, I would be able to see anyone in the direction of my cursor, regardless of any polygons between me and the person I want to see.
It doesn't seem like a good idea, because the whole purpose of Realistic is to make it realistic, not to have X-Ray vision, and be able to see people through polygons.

LoL... WHERE ?? where ffs I have written "to be able to see thruogh polygons" ???
I haven't <ffs>
uhhh. I have to update my pic.
note : When *YOU* <yes, yes, yes I meant you now. > do not understand what I mean ... why do you vote on poll ?? ?? ??
edit : new img. For those who don't understand.
-
uh now i undestand .... its true need that ;D
-
you mean that you should aswell be able to see whats directly above you?
That's not realistic.
-
All he is talking about is a cone of view, a field of vision.
Instead of seeing everything in the direction you are looking, he is proposing that you can only see about 140 degrees in the direction of your mouse
-
hahaha. seriously I unerstood what he ment at his first spot. I dont get it how you ppl didnt get it...
anyway I dont like it :/ because I dont get my 180 degrees sight. which is needed. and also you are much shorter to tur around and look at more places at the same time with the old system.

... 120-140 degress is so very different than 180?
Of course its much shorter. But try to look at target which is *directly* under you.
But thanks for understanding me :D
