hurrah, nice to see that I got a chainsaw fan.
The new movie is in the works, and in my opinion is my best one yet. It's already longer than any of the other ones I've done, and has only just reached the title.

Thanks. For my next movie, I think I'll do a bunch of little random short things and string them together. I'll be sure to find some interesting music too, hopefully a band that nobody has heard.

if there something awesome with the Chainsaw ....
it's to run with a speed of demon to a f*cking camp sniper and hit him just before he shot ^^
and the full ownage I do it was to dodge his shoot and saw him without touch the ground

"jump-backsawing" : you do that a lot in the first video
"sawing-a*s" : with a jump jet acceleration from the back of the victim
"head-cut" : don't touch the ground when you saw him
"outofnowhere" : just come from behind the guy and saw him as fast as possible
"pogofall" : vertical fall on the guy victim
"flashdeath" : difficult : need a poly bug to be lightspeed ejected to the target
"chainsaw-missile" : "superman" technique : and hope you find someone on the way
"parabolic-flight" : come from the back ... saw ..... and return back
what do you think of it ? ^^

The most satisfying technique by far is the prone jet off a cliff and through a guys chest.

I have 2 other idea for the chainsaw guide of doom
run to the camp...futur victim ..... turn back, back roll jump , land behind the guys and give him the Kiss of Death :D
(can also work with knife)
next time I ll try to see if we can saw someone during a roll

You can't saw while rolling. I sometimes roll and then saw or roll after sawing.

Heh, it's kinda weird, but after making this I've been getting way better saw kills than the ones seen on the video.

The saw, if used correctly, can be better than ranged weaps. Like in ctf_ash.

Heh, thanks Brock.
One of the most important parts of the weapon is being able to move as fast as you can, and the ability to move yourself out of the way of bullets. Take a face full right away and you're finished.
You also have to remember that this is the most powerful weapon in the game. It kills almost instantly, and reloads extremely fast. I won't say more for fear of it being nerfed in the next version of Soldat. Mehehe.

I've tried fraps and it sucks ass. :(

I used FRAPS.
It probably sucked for you because you didn't set the frame rate. Set it to 60 fps and everything should go perfectly smooth.

Cause the second I activate it, the game goes all laggy... I'll try it again.

I had that same experience. By tinkering with the settings, I'm able to get perfect quality. All I had to do was set it to 60 FPS.
Upon further thought, maybe the problem is in your computer. How about giving me your specs?

I hear FRAPS requires a pretty mid end computer like mine... Hmmm speaking of mid-end, I wonder when I should get a new graphics card.

Yeah, my comp isn't that great, although I'm getting a new one soon.
1.0 Ghz PIII
128MB GeForce 4 4200 Ti
512 MB RAM
But it runs Soldat, so I'm happy.

Brock: Yeah, that 1 ghz is really bringing you down. It will definitely lag until you get your new computer. Anything above 2 or so ghz should make FRAPS run fine.

That video inspired me, like xtishereb, and a friend of mine who I got into Soldat, to start using chainsaws. At one point, we had a 5 way LAN chainsaw war. And let me tell you. It OWNED!

It's like...if you were in a dream...watching the clock in school in period 5...and then it goes to 2:15...2:15...2:16...2:15....2.....15....2:1...5....2:16....and so on.

If the buffer is being annoying, just leave it and come back, or download the whole thing to your desktop.
And yes, speed is essential when sawing.

you can own a barretard, a minigunner
but it's difficult to run under a rain of bullet
if you doesn't want to die, you can try to dodge the bullet ...
the fast-jump-jet can saw a guy at the light of speed ...
same result for the superman-sawing ^^

I did all of these tricks (save for the beginning ones with Wraithlike) in public servers without telling anybody that I had FRAPS on.
And Tribe, nice multi kills and suggestions. I never thought to put the tricks into words.

Fisting a saw user is pretty hit or miss, if you manage to knock the saw out of his hands you can just kill him with his own weapon though.

That's a great video, and the music really helps. Also great to see no scenes of spawn killing as so many saw users seem to indulge in. I think I'm more impressed that all your hits registered, but then you probably edited it that way. :P :(

I only edited down for length, if I died 60 times before a good kill I'd just trash the video.
