I like in realistic mode and TW_ and I see that weapons/flag flashing before they disappear (like in arcade games) detract from the gameplay experience. Basically, realistic mode (especially on TW_ maps) should be more gritty and less arcade - a bit of visual realism adds to the climate of total inhuman slaughter. Weapon/flag flashing that can't be turned off forces all players to play in arcade-like mode.
I would enjoy the game a lot more if it was an option that can be turned on and off.

Agreed.

It's useful, but I agree it can get a bit annoying. Actually, a better idea might be instead to have a line in soldat.ini which shows something like Flicker=5, where the # would be how many seconds before it disappears would it start to flash

This should definitely be optional, as it's purely cosmetic and couldn't be used to gain an unfair advantage.

yea you're right, it really just doesn't fit in with all the realistic soldat graphic and those jet-booting realism soldat has

Do I smell a hint of sarcasm?
Anyway, I think it would be good as an option, if just for a minor fps optimization.

I think it should maybe fade out to transparency instead of blinking :)
