The solution posted here: http://forums.soldat.pl/index.php?topic=13.msg19#msg19 is a little extreme, and incorrect.
Here's how to properly handle your Soldat+NOD32 problems.
PRIOR to installing or patching to version 1.4, open the NOD32 Control Center, open the 'AMON' options and uncheck 'File system monitor (AMON) enabled'.
Now, install/patch Soldat to the directory of choice.
Re-enable AMON in NOD32 and click 'SETUP' to adjust the AMON settings.
Under the 'Exclusions' tab, add the directory where Soldat is installed, to the list.
Choose 'Include all subdirectories'.
Click OK
Minimize/Hide NOD32
Play Soldat.

Thanks, I'll correct the solution.

Animosity...you are a god among men.
I struggled with this problem for, quite literally, a week and a half. I would disable Nod 32, but it still wouldn't go...anyway, not to bore you with the details, but you have saved me and my Soldat addiction...ah well, c'est le vie.
