Title: WriteConsole Basic Colors
Post by: DorkeyDear on May 11, 2007, 03:40:14 pm
Code: [Select]
procedure WriteConsole(ID: Byte; Text: string; Colour: Longint)
The Colour argument for the WriteConsole function is used to choose what color of the text is when shown. Often times, you may want to try to use the same color as one that is used in one of the default texts that Soldat shows, or may want to avoid them. No matter the case, here is a list of many colors that are used in Soldat's text.

If you feel as though you can contribute to this topic by additional colors or messages, feel free to post it.

Many thanks for Bendarr for retrieving the exact values of these colors.
Hopefully tomorrow, we will have the death console included.

To EnEsCe: It would make life easier if we could be given a compiled list of all colors used in the server and where they are used.

Scripts should not be trying to imitate ingame colours ever. So no. They must remain distinct.

I mean, some people prefer not having the *SERVER* message for /say (or even adding the name of the person saying it), so disable /say and WriteConsole it with the same color; you know?

I don't see the problem with this. I mean sure, it could be abused, but as long as the script can't hinder the player leaving it then why does it matter?

IMO, if the server owner wants to fuck with their guests / peeps, he/she/they can.. just means they won't play there if they were smart (unless ofc if its nothing thats a big deal, such as simple colors that are the same as other things)

Can someone please make this a sticky? Regardless of what Enesce thinks, this is really quite helpful...

You could use this for your gostek colors! Instead of the $FF use $00 for gostek.

I posted a suggestion in the Change of text color for joining delta/spectator (http://forums.soldat.pl/index.php?topic=41566) topic. Please comment if you wish a change to take place.
