I too just experienced this same bug, with the same results.  I didn't do anything besides re-installing soldat out of frustration, and adding that bypass of moonsonix' broken add since the last time I played Soldat.  The same thing even occured when I re-downloaded Soldat 1.31 and installed it into a new and clean directory.

This causes consternation on my part.

I was referring specificly to the problem mentioned in the link that the person posted.  Take a look at the picture (http://shell.nullcore.org/~zcmander/kuvat/soldat_bug.jpg), that's the stuff I got when Soldat did start up.

Now, on to the good news:
I rebooted my computer, and everything was fine. :P

A lesson we should all take to heart.

I just want to make clear that there are two separate problems being mentioned here:
1) that Soldat looks funky when it did start
2) the Monsoonix problem, causing Soldat to take a long time to start

These are two completely separate problems, in no way related to eachother

What video card do you have? I remember this happening a while back (a few years ago) on nVidia cards if Anti-Aliasing was enabled, although it's probably been fixed since then.

Off-topic: the quick-reply box doesn't seem to work.

I had this exact problem today but ive gotten it 3 times before so I know how to fix it.
