So, this isn't your usual SSHV (Soldat Should Have Vehicles) idea, something involving vechicles, but in slighty different way. I think if our gostek spawns high in the sky, he should jump off from a plane, or a helicopter (Or maybe even dragonfly xD), to make everything look more realistic. So, what do you think?
-
Waste of time for the player
-
I think it'd be cool, no doubt there.. But it'd just take a shitload of modding, and there's definitely better ways to spend the time.
Sorry mate.
-
I'd find it quite funny, but then the spawn points should be very high, so it makes sense.
-
Vehicles will never be added. I bet by the end of today, an administrator or moderator will come and lock this topic.

yep tahst true, befor posting read the stikyes, of the suggestions, and a lot of people demand it, MM's said, he never will add vehicles
-
You didnt get what he means.
-
How about. Take a helicopter/dragonfly/apple/pinata/cow scenery, and stick it high up in the air. Have the player spawn from that. Ta da!
And no one even had to change anything.
-
It's a waste of time, indeed.
Gippal's suggestion is good enough.
-
Jump from a dragon fly to "make it more realistic" lmao never happen
-
You don't seem to get what i mean. It would be just a simple animation of plane/helicoper, who just dropped us... :|
-
and what purpose does that serve
-
Anything related to vehicles will never be added.
-
@SirJamesaford - And what purpose does blood serve? And what these little bits that fly when there is explode do?
@The Specialist -T hen we should delete every scenery of vechicle. :|
-

You don't know that. The sticky refers specifically to controllable vehicles.
This is an interesting idea (it would be coll to watch the air transport that dropped you off fly away ;D), although I'm not sure it's worth the coding time, although of course I have no idea if this would be simple to code or not. It might look kinda weird on ctf_Dropdown2...

Blood, little bits, all make soldat much more enjoyable. This would just be strange and hard to code in, and it wouldn't really do anything.
-
If MM said so himself, then it'll hapen.
-
as for the blood... blood is a must have for many reasons that i dont feel like getting into as forĀ "And what these little bits that fly when there is explode do?"
wtf are u trying to say... you sound like that episode of chapelle show where tyrone the crack head finds the magic camera and utters the funniest phrase of all time "What dees buttons do?"
-
Just make a helicopter/plane animation or something. :P
-
Its not worth the time to animate.
-
Just make a helicopter scenery image and stick it up high somewhere and put a spawnpoint there. Good enough?
Scrap that actually, waste of time F11.

O Rly? I think its a good and cool idea.

Already suggested that. Insert another quarter, and try again!
-
There is a map that has this. Its called "inf_Osjelly" or something similar to that name. You can find it at Leo's Real Infiltration Servers.

-
i dunno it probably would be really un-needed but i think it would be pretty cool to be dropped in by plane, but i can see why people are saying it's not needed because it isn't really it would just be a kind of cosmetic thing
-
No is easy to say when Crimson glory is on its way? :D

Although, like Keron Cyst said, it would be extremely cool and distracting to watch your transport fly away.
-
If this was added to Soldat, it would ruin the game-play and remove the feeling of Soldat.
-
Ugh...
Make Plane / Heli / Dragonfly scenery, and make a spawn point from that. Want to make it move? Create Your own game that has vehicles so that you can be proud of it, and play that, so that we don't have to hear your bitching about you wanting vehicles.
-
Deja vu!
Oh wait, no. I actually already said that.
Insert another quarter and try again.

This idea will have no way in affecting the gameplay.

a helicopter/plane that you spawn from and don't control in any way, shape or form will ruin soldat?
-
It seems like an interresting idea to me.
However, if you are after that 'Black Hawk Down' effect i would suggest having a look at a few of the player-created maps.
I cant remember the name of the map but you spawn inside a hovering Gunship. I would like more maps to be like that lol!
-
Oh joy, another one. It's already been said that there'll never be vehicles, so what's the point to this?

Am I the only one who hates people using this single response without any backup evidence besides that it would 'Ruin the feeling of Soldat'? Seriously, what are we, neanderthals who, if given anything even SLIGHTLY more advanced than pac-man are unable to play because of undue complication?
Plus, that overused argument doesn't even apply here, it's not something that would destroy the ever-so-fragile 'simplicity' of Soldat, it's just a fricking eyecandy for ****ing out loud...
*EDIT* And how the hell would it ruin the gameplay?
Ehem...

Not a bad idea, couldn't hurt.

THANK YOU! :D

@Frunkamunch: *stolen from Planter's* Well said Mr. Peanut, well said.
THIS WOULD NOT FREAKING RUIN SOLDAT.
Like Frunk said, it's just eye candy. EYE CANDY WOULDN'T RUIN SOLDAT.
It'd just make it look kewler.

I think this would be cool. Also, I wonder why MM will never add vehicles?

Huge changes to gameplay and more bugs.
-

Oh dear god.
You have no idea what those would cause. Not only are they hard to program, but MM would also have to make new animations for them, physics calculators, wireframes, health meters, possibly bloom lighting, new sounds, and such.
Not to mention the lag they would generate.
-
You only need about two frames.

And just imagine trying to maneuver a tank around Arena :D
-
Yeah, you'd practically need custom maps for them, plus collision damage calculations and movement and such...
