Title: Alpha support in Avatars
Post by: Espadon on June 14, 2007, 04:00:37 pm
I'm a big fan of PNGs and alpha transparency. While my signature shows proper alpha, my avatar's alpha does not work -- shows up as black. Is there a black matting behind all avatars? If so, is it possible to disable it?

Sorry if this has cropped up before and I didn't take the time to search for it.

1. your signature breaks the rules
2. your avatar's alpha does work, it just got resized because it was too large.

No, alpha transparency is supported; just look at my avatar. However, it sometimes messes up if you try to upload an avatar that's bigger than the rules allow. It must be smaller than 90x90 and under 20kb.

EDIT: Damns you 4 year old

I'm sorry, may I ask how my sig breaks the rules before I try to look for the rule myself?

EDIT: Found size restriction, ma bad, thanks.

Your signature is still breaking the rules.

It is 293x125, within the 300x125 pixel dim rules.

Then either you can't read or you're being purposely dense.

For signatures, you are allowed only one image in your signature which may not be wider and taller than 300 and 125 pixels, and may not be over 20kB in file size. No BMPs are allowed.

Why is there a size restriction anyway?

I mean... I can understand when it comes to avatars that are like 650x400

but 300x125 is pretty limiting...

because you want to read the thread not spend ages waiting for the page to load oversized sigs

Just one last question: Why isn't there an ignore button on this forum?

because that would make threads redundant and cause heaps of repetitiveness

Ugh. I guess I'll have to just keep myself from clicking some threads then. :P
