Dont start kid. I simply pointed out they are hosted on his home connection, so enjoy high pings.

It is not on a home connection it is on a 2MB leased line.
Aswell as this, the firewall's filter pings, and send them through a different port so that the packages don't clobber up the line. Resulting in the overall PING response taking longer.

why would you bother forwarding pings? the resources/effort taken to filter and forward an ICMP ping packet is more than the resources taken to simply respond

Thats not true, the firewall just sets them a new course to a different port. It takes absolutly no more resources, as my server itself doesn't need to reply yet; there is no bother of what resources fowarding them uses... Because simply untill the packets are opened and pieced together the server isn't getting affected.
The fowarding of pings is very efficient as the destination port will have another firewall, which will only allow a *SET* amount of packets to be opened. From that course on they are just ignored... Therefore not letting PING too many times.

Yes, that happens for alot of people, what alot of people don't understand is that there is a difference between a leased line and a normal line.
The connection i have is 2MB upstream and 2MB downstream. You have 1MB downstream probabally, which is what you get with a normal "Home Package" . This is completely different, and will effect the server connection alot.
This connection i have is compleatly independant for my servers.
I have a simple 1MB connection speed for this computer.

can you please clear up whether you're talking about 2MB or Mb please? That makes a huge difference in how much you can do.

Actually I have 8MB down and 1MB up. And I know the up stream is what it counts that's why I didn't mention 8MB ;)

Your ISP sucks then. A soldat server requires next to nothing to RUN.

Alright, since you've ignored my question twice, I'm going to assume you meant Mbit (since nobody talks about connection speeds in terms of bytes).
In that case, a leased 2mbit line is good for 10 12 player soldat servers, maybe 12 of them. If it was a normal undedicated connection, I'd say only 5-8 for sure
