Added sounds, they are a bit annoying though
Also added a green version (to lazy to make other colors)

Save the transparent file as a .png and then rename it to a .bmp, I think.

That doesn't quite work for me, and I've tried plain renaming it, saving it again, renaming it in a 7-Zip archive and then extracting, etc. The explosion is pretty awesome, although it'd only fit in certain mods. Quite impressive in game.

Open the .png in a text editor and save it as a .bmp from there? Might work.

Edit: Sorry - Serial Killer, this rocks.

Edit 2: Vltava, I tried the text editor thing myself and it seemed to work. I didn't test it in Soldat but I think it should work.

It's easiest to rename them in windows explorer.

But you will most likely have to enable showing the extensions of known filetypes
( [extra]--> [folder options] --> [hide extensions for knows files]) (names could be different because i have a Dutch Windows version)

Just had a look at it in game. Very, very nice. It is a little subtle, but I love it. But this'd make it perfect: a few sound effect to replace the M79, Law, grenade and cluster explosion sounds. Then  I'd definetly use it.

Yeah, those sounds that the War Of The Worlds alien machines make when they shoot a laser.
