Title: Soldier Class

 :)thought of an idea that may of been suggested b4, i dont know. anyway i think you should choose a certain class of soldier before picking weapons. E.G.

- Medics (allowed to heal yourself + teammates, certain ammount of healthpacks)

- Berserker (can activate berserker mode once per life)

- Support (lets just say if you did have limited ammo, this guy could supply people with some more if they wre low on it)

- Assault (has extra ammo  than all the other classes)

- Heavy Weaponist (starts off with health and armor, unlike others)

- Assasain (can turn himself into predator mode, only once per life)

the list can go on.

each soldier will specialise in certain type of weapons (e.g. Heavy Weaponsist class - best with rocket launcher + minigun) however u can pick any weapon but the settings for the wrong type of weapon and class (e.g. Sniper class- using desert eagles instead of sniper) will be affected (e.g Bink). The specials, like predator mode, or healing can be used with an extra conifguration key added.

this will certainly make the game better and more fun to use. can u think of anything wrong with it? ??? ;D

I'm sorry, this is just thoroughly a bad idea in too many ways to pick out individually.

Soldat does not need to be this freaking complicated.

Soldat is too simple a game to have classes.  And medics has been suggested before and they suck when in a game like Soldat.

This idea is bad, although MM is working over hours trying to make soldat more complex and clear of bugs this idea is completely horrible.

I would like to see this as a mod possibly.......or MM to add a mode where it's like battlefield.

this isnt a BAD idea as much as it is not plausible. I think it would be cool, but i dont see this happening in Soldat. Maybe a more detailed 2-d would have this(maybe detailed is the wrong word.)

some of the classes would create huge problems.

 Example:
 your playing along as a medic, all of the sudden a berserker dude comes along. you kill him, he suddenly spawn right behind you activates berserk and kills you, you automatically respawn in the same area and he kills you again. at some point he would run out of berserk, but then suddenly there is a berserk special right next to him, he picks it up and goes on another rampage of kicking you ass.

I don't know what's your problem with this idea. Zero72 said that this idea sucks, and everyone else is going after him. This is a cool idea. In clanwars this can be a very cool thingie.

And 1 more thing: If you think that the medic guis are suck, do not play with them, be a machinegunner.

yes thast true, but soldat is special and is good how is, the things can be added are the weapons like a mod,. When i read the title i think; 'Soldat class, ranks? Like: Commander, solider etc...' but lol thats different, and that idea of ranks can be good?

Do the "Monkey!" (oops!!) nah.. the idea itself might be good in some other games but not in soldat.

I mean that the server can trace the players statistics, and the ranks can be given from them.

yep but, can have a mark or mething if MM's do it, and ups with % of kills and if it do, need have a looooot of kills to up rank

Yeah, i think this idea is awsomely cool. The game's name is "Soldat" what means soldier. But not every soldier is a low ranked killing machine... xD

How the hell would the medics heal people on the size of soldats maps? By the time he started, you'd have an enemy near you and you wouldn't even bother.

For issues with balance, and general lack of need or necessity, officially implemented soldier classes are not a feasible idea.

The "ranking" will be possible in the next version of soldat(1.4), by using scripts.

I wouldn't add soldier classes. Although I do like Medic in BF2, it limits you to only a few weapons, until you unlock the L85A1 or G36E.

In other words, I like choosing different weapons for each occasion, thank you.

one of the worst ideas in soldat, it doesnt need classes, it doesnt need medics and it doesnt need an amo system.
why not start building a stat building rpg elemant while your at it.

RPG? Nah, but definitely something like Battlefield or Solder (maybe not Solder but you get the idea).

I like the freedom of being whatever I want in Soldat and its usually just too fast paced to do something like this anyways. Maybe it would be alright in a mod but not in normal gameplay.

//off topic// Has anyone ever heard of Gary's Mod originating from Half Life 2? Someone should make a Gary's mod type thing for Soldat, basically a "sandbox" mod...That'd be cool. You would need an open source version of Soldat to do it though and the game would need prop physics ;D. //off topic//
