Well I like the idea of how cs has a buy menu, I mean imagine it would take a while for n00bs to get enough funds to buy barretts or m79s. I know there is advance mode but it would be better to have to make money to get guns. Say like buying everything from your vests to cluster/granades to your primary and secondary weapons.
-
NO.
Soldat is Soldat. 'Nuff said.
-
Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee-NO.
I wont even waste my time making a pic of what this may look like. It's too F*CKin stupid. Go play cs2d.

QFT

Good heavens NO.
Even PRO players would need to get funds to get to their desired gun.
And this would suck if you only knew how to use that one gun that you'll never reach.
-
read some of mm's interviews...he would never add this into soldat. soldat is supposed to be simple, fast, and fun. and thats just what it is. so lets keep it that way
-
haha.. 0-9-0 votes... good job guys :D
-
12-0 now ;D
-
GO BACK TO COUNTERSTRIKE!
-
O Snap
Motherf----in 15 votes.
The closest thing to buy menu is advance mode. There problem solved, this is worse than the player class idea I swear.
-
Um... no.
How would you decide what costs what.. will causes even more flames and unbalance issues.
-
Not gonna happen, and would never want it to.
-
@John the Engineer : that's not that much of a problem, apart from the things mentioned, you would need a main server to remember all the stuff and some way to calculate how much money you get, blablabla
-
Like everyone else has said, no. It would make it too complicated and annoying.
-
No man i dont think it be all that great.
-
I was expecting one vote for yes, from the creator of the topic. :P
-
by the name of the l33t god : NO
Soldat ISN'T counter-strike
there already a advanced mods if you want have a weapon for merit
but there already a probleme : how you can won other weapon if you can't shoot anyone because you have a stupid Socom vs. a army of AK, M79, MP5, deagle ...
-
I HATE THE BUYING IN CS LIKE SO Much! It drives me nuts and to have it in soldat also?!?!? Are you insane??!?! I have 1 word for you. NO :D
Oh yeah an also in a way, I think all guns are the same power and everything. Just different look and different effects. I think all weapons in soldat are equal.
-

There is a balance between the weapons, (except for the m79 :P) but they do not all have the same damage, if that's what you mean.
-
No i think he means every gun is equal. So if a guy shot you down with a barret, you could use the Steyr to hopefully bink him. And then he could use the deagles to take you down quicker. Or something like that.
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OO!!!!!!
WHAT THE **** ARE YOU SMOKING??
A goddamn buy menu? What next? A 'iron ore (or whatever it is) Steyr'?
-
No way in hell. GO BACK TO COUNTERSTRIKE! >:(
-
Please. I've been gone from the forums for a year and you people still want to turn Soldat into CS?

I've never even played Counter-Strike, and please don't speak for all of us. In fact, a lot of us disagree with the suggestion. :S

i dont know if you have noticed this, but there already is a mode like this....advanced mode
-
lol i was about to mention that, Chameleon, but yeah, there is Advanced Mode. Use that. It's kind of the same except you don't pay for weapons.
-
1 vs 35, still going strong :D
We should make a server, we all against this dude. Advanced more of course. ;D

Sorry. I mean I too disagree. Didn't mean to speak for everyone.
-
wow, I'm really surprised by the vote results. Looks like this idea was pretty much shot down eh?
-
dont support it in soldat, but its good in cs
-
omg this is really a NO!
-
Can you guys be a little more constructive please. If you've already voted 'no', theres no need to post and state that fact. I want to see reasons for / against please.

I like this idea, not neccesarily as a new option, but as an improvement to advance mode.
This is what advance mode is to me: Kill some people and random guns will eventually appear (and disappear). How about making it a bit more clear and coherent? Keep it the same, only you have a little fund counter in the corner of your screen that keeps track of your progress. When you kill, you get money. When you die, money is subtracted from your fund. Isn't that basically what advance mode is? Only now, you won't be so in the dark about your progress. Sure, you can press F1, but money makes it easier to visualize. (And the K:D ratio required to get weapons isn't well documented. Actually, advance mode in general isn't documented at all.)
The relevent question is, how would you spend the money you've earned? One scenario is, the more money you have, the wider the selection of weapons available to you. For example, say one kill gives $500, so $1500 gives you access to three random weapons. In this case you wouldn't actually be spending your money on the weapons themselves (maybe instead of money we can call it tokens or something else). This is essentially what advanced mode is like already.
Another scenario is that weapons each have their own worth and each time you purchase them the money is subtracted from your bank. Barrett and M79 would naturally be assigned highest price tags. There is no random element. This is more like Counter-Strike. Given that advance mode is pretty much never used, I think adopting a CS-style buy system may actually make things more interesting and boost its popularity a little.
The people saying stuff like "go back to Counter-Strike" are idiotic. The official game description notes CS as one of the main influences. The Soldat community is shifting towards more CS-style play every day (R/S servers have multiplied, CS maps are somewhat popular). So why act like CS-inspired ideas are off limits? It's not one of the most popular Internet games in the world by some fluke.
Conclusion:
- Implementing some sort of counter in advance mode that keeps track of your progress (like money) is a good idea in its own right.
- Adopting CS-style pricing may be interesting and could help resurrect a dead game mode.
-
No this not to soldat!
-
He deleted his poll -_-
-
No,
soldat should never have any relation to money except for registereing.

Great way of wording it. I would hate it in normal mode, but in advance, it would raise popularity. and for sotija (he just was obvious because right after this post), say why you said no... you are just trying to raise your post count.

money gives birth to greed, greed is bad like me
here is the reason
NO BUY MENU!
-
Okay so no one likes this idea.. But it was always only an idea It was my thoughts There was never no need to abuse me in a sentence saying play CS, or gloat about how everyone voted no. Besides It would have never made it throught to soldat even if people supported it, as I am sure you all know.-_-*
-
This is the worst idea I have ever heard (well not the worst, but one of the worst)!
-
Hum, I will put you all to shame with my +56 Barret with %5 MP regeneration.
Soldat may be based on CS, but it is NOT cs. No.
-
And just how would you make the $cash$ in the first place? lol this sounds like you want Soldat to turn into some kind of RPG, NO.WAY
-
Nooo! This certainly doesn't fit for soldat at all! I hate all games where you have to earn and buy your stuff, because it will probably also worsen the "leet people" > "new people" hierarchy
-
i kno that this would be bad in the game, but in the advance mode they could put this in, that way if you want to lay then go ahead, and i support it to some level.
