ok so everytime i request servers, there are always some strange wacko servers, cause them have 8 player limit, and got like 32 players playing them. Got 9999 ping, so what are they? I tryied to join one time and i cant. They dont have BE wso... hacker servers?
-
well many reasons why the ping is the way it is...
1. if you live farther away from them the pign won't be good
2. The map could be a problem if its a made map it could make ping high
3. the server owners internet could be like terrible dial up which makes u have bad pign
so if the ping is ever 9999 then u woun't be able to join..
-
Yeah i think ur right blaze because i live in alaska and i get alot of those servers
-
yea..im in mid usa so i never have problems with servers unless its the maps problems....well glad i could help [:
-
theres only like 3 on 100 so no problem, but its strange
-
The 9999 ping-servers need to be portforwarded
-
i know that sometimes servers for example have that an 8 max but have 16 people this is sometimes because there are bots witch seem to count as players
-
The 9999 ping can be caused by two other things that haven't been mentioned yet:
1) the server host has not forwarded the ports properly
2) YOUR ISP is blocking the small UDP packets used to ping servers after a certain number of them are sent. This is because small UDP packets are often used as part of DDoS attacks and also port-scans, both of which are things that ISPs may or may not want to block, depending on their ToS
-
I only get that when i play in Australia servers.
-
O.o; Maybe it's a zombie server or whatnot? I don't think it matters, though, unless you're playing in the server. Your ping prolly wouldn't be 9999 in there anyways.
-
I've got some of them at the end of my list too, i don't usually visit the higher pinged servers, 200~250 suits me fine.
-
I believe the ping is 9999 when there is no reply received when the ping-cmd is sent to the server.
In other words, ping time out, possible due to packet loss.
