A /vote function. (IE: /vote ctf_B2b)
I can't tell you how much of a pain it is to scroll through all my maps to get to a certain map I like.
/vote is clean, simple, and easy.

I constantly avoid voting maps because of all the maps that I have to scroll through. I highly approve

I can't stress how much I support this idea. It really sucks going through my huge list of maps, and the people I play with (*coughs* Twelve) constantly make me do it because they don't want to for the same reason. Please, for the sake of my fingers, add this simple feature.

Oh hell yes. Altough been suggested before, this is still something which is absolutely necessary. Or make the vote option box more friendly.

OMG i never thought of this idea, but that would be so BAMF! i totally agree, and what harm could it do? I see no negative outcome from this.

yea.. as long as you remember what the map names are.. maybe something like if you e.g. type ctf_V and press some button, like tab, you get the map name that is first in alphabetic order of those maps who begin with ctf_V, and press tab again until you get to the map of your choise.. this is my suggestion as an addition to this idea, I like the idea a lot.
(The map I had in mind was ctf_Voland... if somebody cares)

100% totally needs implamented. I'm suprised this wasn't implamented yet. It seems like such an ingenius idea.

I like that addition, Ken. It's not necessary to the core idea, but it'd certainly help forgetful people, and it'd make the entire process that much smoother. I have an old habit of forgetting map names, so I'm sure this would come in handy. ;)

Oh, man, this would make voting for maps so easy. It's clean, simple, effective, and I would guess not as hard to program into Soldat as a new hairstyle. But, I don't know how Soldat is coded, so don't quote me as an expert on coding.

And what if you misspell the map name and Soldat will not reckognize that there is no such map?

Why shouldnt soldat reckognize if you misspelled it ? It takes 1 single if statement to check if a file is in the ...\soldat\maps\ dir..

This does sound good, but perhaps another modification would be good. Instead of either showing one map at a time or typing in the full name, when you click on vote map it opens up a largish box with a scrollbar that shows all the maps you have.
And of course it would be able to be organized by type of map and/or alphabetical order.
I realize this is harder to do than just the typing in the name idea, but it's just something to think about.

I like this idea, and as an extention, if you hit the TAB key, it will finish off the map name for you (for example, you type /vote aren, then hit tab, it comes up with Arena, again will come up with Arena2, and again will come up with Arena3)
Still, this is a good idea, it'd definetly make a nice addition to the game, as long as it doesn't take too long to implement.

I've been wanting this for years, the current voting is a pain.
The commands should be /votemap and /votekick though.

A /votekick command should be added for the same reason (e.g. /votekick 1)
