Well, these forums are riddled with m79 and barret overuse topics. I thought I'd turn thing around a bit... What do you think is the least popular weapon?
I rarely see the Deagles use, and whn people do, they usually suck with them. (I like the deagles though, I'm good with them)
But I don't see why the Deagles are so unpopular, they are powerful, especially at close range, they reload relarively fast, and they ricoshet so good it's almost a crime. So why are they so unpopular?
PS: Were they any changes made to them from 1.2.1 -----> 1.3.1? I think they were a little more popular back then? I dunno, what's your opinion?

Minigun. Almost everyone hates it, even most newbs.

Yep, minigun followed by minimi. Deagles are now unpopular because they were nerfed. Before, 2 hits usually guaranteed a kill, now 3 are required a lot of the time.

I see almost every weapon in servers, but whenever I see the minigun it's only used by the noobs. Most of the times I see m79 abusers everywhere, though. >:(

Actually, using the minigun is quite entertaining. I enjoy spraying forty rounds into one's noggin from five feet away.

Hmm... only occasionally do i see a Spas'er. And a lot of times, I'm the only one I ever see using a Ruger.
And Minimis are rare... but people are good whenever they do use the Minimi.

I never really see people use the chainsaw, mp5, and ak-74 anymore.
Btw the mp5 really is one of the best weapons in the game.

I'd say the minigun and the minimi are the most unused guns. I rarely see any one with the minigun except a Major or two, and the people that have the minimi dont seem like they know what they're doing with it.

I like the minigun, i can usually squeeze a few kills off with it before i die (usually).
I think it would become a little more popular if it didn't have such lousy bink.
And same goes for the minimi. A good gun with just a little too much bink.

it seems pretty obivous which gun is the least used. As for the minimi being second, i do agree. but i wil say that i have been seeing more and more people using it lately, it may be picking up steam. I personialy dont get why people dont use the minimi more. i mean it may be an issue of bink to a lot of people from the auto-firing, but i have adapted. i got to a point where i am able to keep it very low and keep a really high rate of fire.

if you ask me, the deagles are nice weapons so i can't understand why not using them....ok i don't use them too but i saw many pr0s playing with deagles =)

I often switch to chainsaw in big servers when the knife just doesn't help too much... I actually won a game a few days ago on Lanubya using only saw and a few nades here and there, with about 20 people in the game... that was a lotta fun :D I got 2 caps.
Another time I got third place using ONLY saw, with no caps. I think chainsaw is really underestimated by a lot of people, as it can be very effective.
Generally, I'm sticking to spas/knife though :P
Anyway, I've seen a few decent deaglers recently.. the weapon is pretty good if you can handle the arc. I rarely get into spas fights with anyone, but they come along occasionally. And I agree that the Minimi is starting to pick up a bit... maybe it's just coincidence, but I've been in servers with 2-3 minimi users a number of times in the past few days.

personally i think rambo's flaming bow will always be least used weapon overall. in r/s there is a wider array of weapon users it seems, compared to the usual m79's and barrets.(not that i have anything against m79, or barret, i personally like both of them). but not all weapons are equal yet and never will be. otherwise the game would lose its fun. thats why some wepaons such as chainsaw are harder, compared to mp5 which is much easier to kill an enemy with. thats why i hate when people complain about weapons, since if a weapon is so easy to use for that person, if you are better than them you should be able to kill them with any weapon. that is what makes the game fun.

No, YOU suck. Because you can't use it properly to get a kill. I've been using it, and trying the most effective ways to get kills. And lemmie tell you, It's difficult... Because this isnt some pickup-charge-kill weapon. I've won deathmatches with the Minigun and I didn't stand there spraying like a dumbass. Using the Socom with the Minigun is a serious life saver. This bloody weapon takes alot of patience to use.
Really, I use all (semi auto and automatic) weapons whenever i'm in the mood. So...yeah I'm one of the few guys who you see with like... a Spas/Chainsaw combo.
...And to answer your question, Brock I think all the semi-autos and autos are used the least equally... Except the Minigun because no one has the balls to use it. Besides. why do you think weapons like the Spas and Desert Eagles are used so...little? Take a look at that chart on the first page, for example. *cough*

and for me, I never see any real good spasers, as myself. I recently picked up a spas and said "i need to get good with this weapon. no reload time. just reload a shell at a time. this gun must be good in some way". and the spas is extremely effective. but whenever i get TOO good with it in a server, 100% of the time (not exaggerating either) i am called a hacker.... i guess people dont expect spasers to be good...
the least used combo i see? I NEVER SEE AK-74 AND LAW!!! or Barret and chain.

I spas in small maps in R/S (ex. Ash). Dunno if that counts though.
The least used weapon's got to be the Rambow for sure.

The whole bit with chainsaw... I love the saw, in close range maps like arena2 and the dusty-lookin' one, I can get multi kills with a saw.
Yeah, the Minimi is pretty unpopular too. Lotsa people don't use it cause if you fire for a long period of time, the shots get very innacurate. But bullets do high damage...

Well definatly the rambow eagles, but we are talking about out of primaries. The rambow wouldnt be the least in Rambo servers obviously. Its just a gun you cant call the least used when it doesnt get the opportunity to be used.

Well if you play R/s you don't see a lot of saws or minguns..

I'd go with the Minigun, its a really noobish and dumb to use gun, noone likes it that i know.

And ive seen helluva many minimi users lateley, so i cant really agree on that... :P

never seen anyone using stationary gun. like ever. :P
other than that i don't see a lot of people using minimis, or (okay i'll say it) miniguns.

I haven't used an m79 for over two months, yay.
There are lots of spas in realistic servers, it kills in a hit or two.

There are few weapons which are mostly not used:
Minigun, Minimi & Spas.

Like i said, i think spas should be much more popular. i think it is unpopular because it is "unpredictable" (to some) the way the bullets spray. I just use my charge tactics, either stay at their level or always fly above them, headshots. because if you let them get above you, spas sprays but its still good at close range. plus i use spas VERY often to boost teammates. I think spas is extremely good all-around except long range. it does struggle in far-mid range, but a skilled user can get the shrapnel to all fall in the same area.

I'd say Deagles or Minigun. Depends on the server settings.

minigun does have some excessive bink but usually if your good bink doesnt matter much..and people who say you should click for every shot with ak and minimi or fire 3 shot burst probably suck with tthat weapon anyway :d
and mister angry minigun maybe doesnt suck but its by far the worst primary in soldat..surfing is its only good ability

Its pretty obvious that the Minigun is the least used weapon to me but after that its probably the Deagles, everyone (including me) stopped using them after 1.2.1? I think!
A lot also depends on what maps you play on too, close quarters all you see is the M79 but on more open maps people tend to switch to other weapons like AK or Minimi

Haha, it always happen... there is always a guy who swear by the weapon and says he top #1 in the server when uses it/against noobz). I won't argue with you because server's stats are pretty clear :) .

noo...I'm still a loyal user of the deagles. You have to get near the head for them to work properly. I think the least used weapon is the mini. A little damage increase could knock it back into balance though.

Whenever i go on a server with stationary guns i always see people on them, infact its a rarity not to :). I myself am still a noob, ;) (three weeks experience) and find the guns a very easy quick kill and u cant miss ;D. They very boring and campish but i always see fellow noobs using them. If they use them too much people figure you out and own u with thier m79s lol. I think people also use them because they suck at everything and or the other players keep owning them ;). Trust me i no i am a NOOB. :P

Well the minigun is used a lot to surf...But as far as kills, minigun is last...I mean even fists beat it in kills in most servers... Then of course, the chainsaw follows right after the minigun as the second least amount of kills in most servers... ::)
But I love the saw...Yes rarely do I get a kill with it, but when I do for some reason I seem to always get doubles with it. But once again, I rarely get that close to the person.

Not at all. On a flat plane aiming horizontally, both fire about mid-range, though the Desert Eagles do extend just a bit. Both guns can fire across the map -- those Spas shots travel far -- it's just that the weak the Spas shots break apart make it useless at that a full screen range. Try it out. :P

Ok.. well I just tried it out. I stood on a flat piece of land, and shot both weapons horizontally to my right.
The deagles' shots hit the ground approximately 50% further away than the spas shots.
Here's an ascii representation (I aligned it with my Soldat window).
Spas

Maybe not twice as far, but hardly a marginal difference either. :P
I guess our ideas about what "the same range" is differs slightly. Mine seems to be a bit more precise, while yours is more general. Fair enough?

the socomers I rarly see but I ALWAYS use the socom, i press the
mouse so fast its like a automatic :D
I usually never see a ak-74 user. I cant rember the last time i saw one.

Minigun is the hottest weapon ever. I can't believe clans like ES, EF, or BH have no Minigun pros like me.

Because the chainsaw, it turns out, can be very effective in many situations. Apparently it's been underestimated for a long time, and more people are finding out the wonders of the pwnage that is teh saw!!!
