What has happened?
Whenever I refresh my Soldat Capture the Flag servers list, all I get is Climbing, Hexer, Knife Only, Counter-Strike and all those other modified gamemodes. Am I the only one who cannot find any regular CTF servers with no realistic, with good ping and a reasonable number of players? :'(

Most of the regular "normal-CTF" players, play gathers. You need to join #soldat.gather or #sna.gather (if you're from NA).
And there is a few good european servers such as TBA or selfkill servers (which are still on if I remember right), I don't know about NorthAmerican pubs though.
However I encourage you to join IRC and play gathers if you like CTF.

Gathers is a good place to go for no bullshit normal CTF but you better be decent or at least able to cope with constantly getting owned.

Agreed, same with Inf, although I enjoy a game or two of duckhunt, we need more inf. And CTF.

You're right. I don't know where I would play everyday if u13, even fracs weren't around. In the future normal CTF will be what Inf is right now...

Forget about normal CTF, what about Deathmatches? That gamemode is slowly dying, too... all I see are empty servers now.

I sure hope they don't... Avarax was fun for a while but it got old after about lvl 30.

Yes we need more inf maps like red team tries to invade that giant bunker hill from both sides and blue is repulsing the attack waves, taking care of their beloved flag.

More standard CTF and INF servers! \o/
And I agree with NooMoahk. Soldat's subgamemodes are fun every once in a while, but they will never replace the standard modes in terms of sheer enjoyment.

Oh yes, let's now make Soldat 50% WoW-ish (With teh super leet magic skillz where complexed retards can pwn j00, coz they can't pwn j00 anywhere else...) 40% CS-ish (Coz what will CS players do when CS is bugged?) and 9% Diablo II-ish (Why not? It's a 2D game so we can ruin it!)
And 1% Soldatish...

I notice the same thing, the dm servers are not always as full as they once were.

Btw, if you've read enough about gathers, they aren't even close to a subgame mode...merely organized "standard CTF".

I've tried numerous times to host a successful CTF normal server and they never fill up. I too love normal CTF with no mods, etc.. but I fear those days are long gone.

True, Spasm. I like CTF servers with about 4-6 people and that's why I fear those gatherings. I imagine those servers could be quite crammed up?
ES public server is my long-time favorite. Many cool people play there (Medic, KO9, how's it goin'?) and there is a nice atmosphere there.

And CTF on pubs SUCKS BALLS. Nobody ever reports EFCs or INCs, neither listens to you. It's horrible =X

Yeah. The only server you're looking for that I can think of is Netsession CTF for 1.3.1. I never came across a good CTF server myself.

It's different here in Australia, you just have to ask where the efc or ffc is and usually someone will tell you. I only go to pubs at a certain time where the good players are on.

Come to Australia. Excluding the crappy servers no one plays on, we get one host for all our local servers, GameArena. 1 DM server, 1 TDM, 1 Inf, 1 public ctf (normal), 1 private ctf (normal) and another CTF, which I don't really know why it exists. Then you get 3 New Zealand servers (DM, Inf and normal CTF), and thats about it I think. No climbs, hexer or trenchwars.

And GameArena allows you to host your own servers.
Man, it's great to be Australian... We don't have any problems with public servers sucking. :P.

Although it is not just pros pwning everything in sight, we do get the occasional ******s who jump in to spoil the game. Most of the time, it's just fun with guns.
