MAN I OPEN THIS TOPIC for the most stupid weapon ever made in soldat wanna know what weapon is that???? is the KNIFE!!!!!!!! man i hate it i mean why a knife can kill u with one cut and the m79 dosn`t kill u whit the expancion wave that every single explotion have im mean is **** up i get kill for the knife after shoting one shell of the m79 and a several grandes for what ....for the other guys throug me the damm knife and kill me of on cut ...sorry but thats **** up

I like all the weapons, they all have their pro and contras and I think they are all balanced out almost with perfection.

Well, the knife power is for weapon balance ;) (stated many times before).
On Topic: I don't really care about what people use against me. For my use I can't really stand the Steyr or Barrett. The Steyr for me seems to never get a kill. (Maybe because I'm used to AK's shot speed). I can't seem to ever hit a mid-air shot with the Barret so that really defeats my offensive purpose.

SPAS is kind of annoying and of course, Miniguns - especially when they are used by Major who have the definite intention to blow you away most easily without knowing that he could take me down with a M79 or even Barret much, much faster... And well, what all those Minigunned Majors do - they just stand in their base and hold fire like there's no tomorrow. The skilled players who use it from time to time just for fun or to protect the base, they don't annoy me that much. And of course, Knife.
I use M79 aka "the most hated gun in Soldat" really often and recently I started practicing with Ruger (because it just is the greatest weapon of the game if you learn its tricks)... you guessed it, all those guys with M79s pissed me off and made me realise what the M79 fuss is about.

I hate the weapon "play0r whin0r". It causes too much damage.
Also /kill and /mercy and /brutalkill are so unfair!
So is /shutdown - this is the most powerful weapon in Soldat!

im rubbish with the deagles but they have no bink so i am helpless against that huge advantage. that and the spas are the only real rush weapons anymore.

Steyr AUG - the gun is way too popular. There's no fun of playing against 3x spray. A less frustrating thing would be listening to the steyraug-file.wav looped in your media player.

People hate the knife. Even when I sucked with it a lot more I didn't hate it, its like the hardest to use. It's like a 1 shot M79 that doesn't always kill. People who hate it: learn to use it its the best secondary.

But it's certainly difficult enough to use that it should not be hated but respected. Now, in Soldat, it is practically human nature to get fed up with being killed, especially if the person just got lucky because you spawned right near them, and especially if it's a one hit killer but... I don't know.

Haha, very true. It is a little frustrating getting blown to pieces with the m79 but it's great blowing up other players.

Weapons I hate using:
Barrett- 4 seconds between shots and startup time not to mention high bink and moveacc make it hard to use to me. I get good sometimes, but usually i stink with this weapon.
XM214 Minigun- Uh..need I say why?
Knife- my control scheme doesnt allow for easy access to the throw weapon button. Plus I end up throwing my main gun half the time.
Chainsaw- No range...
Weapons I hate facing:
M79- "LOL I CAN SPAM NADES!"
Ruger- BOOM BOOM SPLAT! Kills too fast. Im not really good with it but sometimes i ca use it well and I see its overpoweredness. Needs a little more time between shots or something.
Regular grenades- Sometimes matches turn into spamfests. Plus whenever I use them the people just get knocked out of the way, but then i automatically die from nade attacks easily. Either that or be weakened and killed in 1 shot after that. A little too widely used and a little too powerful IMO. I think it would be balanced if the limit was 2 nades or something tho.
Knife- Its so lame to me. I spray the crap out of people, theyre all bloody, then they pull that thing out and IM DEAD in an instant. Lame.
Barrett, LAW, and chainsaw are really the only 1 hit kill weapons I really respect. In order to be accurate, Baretters need to be really good at aiming. Lawers need to chouch, and chainsaws have no range. IMO theyre balanced. Knife and M79 are really irritating, nades are overused (out of 1971 deaths since i started using this program, nades kill me more than any other weapon, 311 deaths!) and sometimes too powerful (especially when people throw like 4 at you in 2 seconds), and the ruger seems a little overpowered.

No one said it was easy to use buddy. Its just gets annoying if someone who's really good with it just keeps killing you with it right when your about to kill them.

yeah but knifes are easy to dodge. they are only REALLY powerful if they are thrown down, or if your close to them.

Knife is by far the best secondary, use it if you are smart. That's the point, you can kill anyone; even if you are almost dead. Learn to use it, it took me like an hour to learn. Well... it was on hexer where I like don't die...

At the moment, I dislike the M79, since it's almost impossible to dodge in the hands of a lagger. (You don't see the real path of the bullet when it's lagging, and thus can still get hit by it quite easily.)

Oh yeah, why dont everyone start using m79 what a jolly fun game it would be!
its not the quantity of kills m79 score on me, its the quality.
By killing with the m79 you just click the mouse and the enemy is dead within 1 second of doing so.
With other weapons, you have to follow your target, keeping a constant aim and doing some dodging as well in most cases.
I often take a m79 from a dead enemy, and use it as a secondary (shooting the m79 bullet then whipping out my steyr if it misses)
In most cases I find myself being just completely bored over how easy and pointless it is to kill someone with this POS
you just aim in the general direction of your enemy and whoa you got a kill.

sad to say it, but no.
I had friends over who tested soldat. Never have played it before, they used some autos first and could not kill anyone. They quickly found out that the easiest wep to kill with was the m79, and they got pretty nice placements on the stat list.
because its so easy to use.
When you are close to someone and you have a m79 you practicaly CANT miss, and the other person doesent stand a chanse. Also if you miss with the m79, you most likely get to fire of a second shot before the guy shooting at you with an auto has killed you.
All of this is why I hate m79, and wish people focus on learning other weapons, instead of just immediatly going for what you get the most kills with.

As Avarax said, all wepons have their pro and contras. I can kill good with all the wepons acept the BIG MINI. It takes a lot of skill to operate :D

Barret is my favourite weapon however that is true that one shot kill is not a good idea. In my opinion it could kill immediately when hit at head or torso but it would be great if a soldier hit in leg lost it, felt on a ground and couldn't walk, just crawl and shoot from that position till death. Same thing could happen when steped on a grenade/mine, he could survive but body parts would amputate.
Some of you complain about knife. It don't always kill with one hit - if not enaugh power is used, it will only make a harm. What is more, you must be highly skilled to accurately throw it and that is why killing by it gives so much satisfaction.
Guns I hate are:
m79 - but only when too much players are using it at one time. It should be a special weapon like a flamethrower.
flamethrower - I don't hate just a weapon but that short time when a soldier cannot be killed.
some innovative weapon ideas:
-jackhammer - a fast shooting shotgun but reloading longer
-a siliencer - a bonus from a box adding a siliencer to a gun(only to some weapons)
-mortar - as a second weapon
-molotov coctail - as another bonus from boxes instead of standard granades

I think that's because you suck. You have to get them to miss a shot (duck, backflip, bink, etc.) then jump out of your cover and "OMFGPWNZ111" them. I <3 Barret servers, if you're having that much trouble with them then join one and train your ass off until you can dodge 'em with ease.
As for M79s just keep your distance, I honestly find them the easiest opponents.

Yeah, I agree with you chris stan. I see people pwn with the ruger, and make like every shot. then I use it and miss more than I hit. Sometimes I am good with it and rack up lots of kills lately, but it just doesnt work as well to me as ir does to others. Sometimes (maybe because of lag) I need to hit people like 3 times with it in order to kill. And I find the bullets to be hard to aim. I can hit decently with guns like the Deagles and the autos (and even M79), but I cant hit well with the ruger. The hits just dont detect or they BARELY miss each time. I dunno how times my bullets miss by like 1-2 meters.

Using: Deagles and the m79. Can't aim with them for crap. I suck with arcs.
Going against: I'd say m79, but recently it's been easier to deal with. So I chose the ruger. I know it's hard to use and uncommon, but damn it annoys me.
And the mp5. Always the spraying. (Is usually a Barrett-user)

The weapons I despise are the M79 and grenades. People who strategically throw the grenades are fine but I hate the players who are about to die and decide to randomly fling grenades all over the place in an attempt to get a kill. Also, M79 pros who know how to accurately place shots are respected by me but when noobs decides to jet up as close as possible to you and then fire, that pisses me off. Sooner or later, I'm going to have to start practicing with the M79 even though I hate it so much.

I think one shot from Barrett is fair kill. And that amputation thingie... It would be lame... really. Let's say it's ctf_Run and two guys are 1vs1-ing. Blueguy sprays right after spawn with barrett and hits the Redguy to legs. *AAAAgh*
"Damn, not i need to crawl to the enemy" And then, Blueguy accidently throws a grenade and steps on it. *BOOOoooOooOM*
"Damn, where is that red guy, I hope I can capture his flag."
It would be quite impossible because jets are placed in legs - if you shoot them off, you're not able to gain height, which means you have no chance of capturing that flag over deadly holes.

EDIT: LOL, I forget to write which weapon I most dislike. I am sure it is the cheap m79. No need to aim with it. You just have to predict where your enemy is heading to and shoot him.
But I love using it too... When EFC is fleeing, I can boost myself by shooting polygons nearby. I LOVE Barrett!! I can shoot whole clip without dying once. I don't care about four seconds firing interval. I've learned from r/s how to survive that four seconds and then binkshoot my opponents. :)

You're thinking of the XM214 Minigun. If someone was skilled enough to kill a decent amount of players with that thing, I'd be astonished.

Minigun, new players just spray commonly used passages hoping for a kill, Whenever I run through I lose a little health which makes me easier to kill for real players.

Minigun is probably one of the best guns in the game, just 15-17 bullets will kill a man in non R/S, The only reason It's so weak online is because of lag issues. In R/S with 50 or lower ping, 7 bullets will kill you.

Exactly. I love the minigun offline, but I had a friend test what happens online: I just stood there pumping bullets into him, and to hime, he said that I was aiming above him and that only a few bullets ever hit.

Weapons I hate:
Combat Knife - I've caught more of these in the head than just about anything else. And it's so damn unexpected when it happens too. People complain about m79 suicide attacks, but you can knife at the same range too.
Spas - Massive knockback when hit, enough kick to propel the owner from danger and a 12 round magazine plus progressive reloading. This thing is a major PITA on small maps if you're on the recieving end.
