Below is current project that's based on Universal Forces full mod. It's not completed yet and it'd take lot of time to do it ;) .



NEWS:

27.12.2013 :

- done a little clearing in the post. Weapons with missing images that are to be redone marked as such.

10.11.2012 :

- reuploaded large part of images after Imageshack account clean-up.
- added reshaded MAC-11.
- added Saiga MK-01 in Chris Costa/Magpul version.

26.05.2011 :

- added reshaded and new MP5s' (MP5/10, MP5 A4, MP5 A5, MP5 SD6, MP5K, MP5K PDW) in number of 9.

18.05.2011 :

- added whole new G36 family (G36, G36K, G36KV with Aimpoint and one with silencer and reshaded G36C, G36C with Aimpoint and silencer.

17.05.2011 :

- added new G36C in three versions.

22.02.2010 :

- added new logo.

20.02.2010 :

- added Ak-47 Tactical.

11.02.2010 :

- changed rest of M4 and Colt M635. Now all they have new stocks.
- uploaded missing images.

08.02.2010 :

- added seven Ak's. Most have only new woods but few are new and 74U has new Cobra.
- added DE Mk. XIX. It's not well shaded but I can't shade silver weapons. It took me more then hour anyway.
- added new, a little bit reshaded M14 w/ACOG. Woods look better now.
- added PP-19 Bizon in two versions.
- added MEU SOC in Tan and P14-45.
- added bit changed M14 in woodland painting.
- added new M4's with new stocks.
- added new M21.
- added WA2000 with new woods.

06.02.2010 :

- added two new SVD's with better woods.

26.12.2009 :

- added M60.

22.11.2009 :

- added six versions of Mk. 23 Mod.0.

21.11.2009 :

- added this s*it to the post ;D .

wow... i dled installed did eveyrthing i wa supposed to do and i said run  UF and all i get is a small screen and 4 button choices with no text next to em and no matter what i do it just doesnt work! what a gip :/

[h8]`·._.¸,ø Divi and Boots, check your "Soldat/mods" folder. If there's not "Night_Forces", "Night_Forces_Dark", "Day_Forces" and "CQB_Forces" folders then you should check your Soldat folder. The mod must be Installed in "Soldat" folder. Not "Soldat/Mods" or something like this.

Yes. I tried to keep it in deafultish style :)

The MP5A4 and Remington M870 look pretty nice, but the rest seem... a bit flavorless. They don't seem to have depth. Hate to say it, but they might need more... shading.

M14, DAO-12... do you really don't see shading?

The weapons should really have more details and much more shading. On some guns only the outlines are different like SCAR and PZF-3 and some other weapons... I like only AK-74 and M92F.

1. You mean that outlines are bad made? I don't think so. For SCAR i used my BF2 outlines. I've never seen any othe PZF-3 so for now it's the best (only one ;D ).

2. Shading? Maybe it's not good visible 'cause it's really smooth. Just look at DAO-12 magazine. It's shaded but shading is not "shiny" visible because of it's smoothness.

If you would look closer you would see that ak-74 is almost non shaded. I think that rest guns are better and all fit good to each other.

Pafel, outlinesy są dobre, nawet bardzo dobre tylko nie widać żeby były jakieś inne odcienie szarości na PZFie.

Outlines are good, but I don't see the difference between grey colors on PZF.

I pisze się "fit" a nie "feet".

They're similar because of weapons similarity but they're not the same (check the M4A1 one and compare it to the Mk.18 one).

Another thing: there's no modded amount of heath, ammo, jet, maybe at screenshot exist but inside mod not this time.

Well, same sound for me but one shorter, second longer and with echo background.
There's no modded: health-bar. reload-bar. jet-bar. (*.png or *.bmp), how you think, which version I dl'ed?;) Exactly under this newest link.

Well, same sound for me but one shorter, second longer and with echo background.
There's no modded: health-bar. reload-bar. jet-bar. (*.png or *.bmp), how you think, which version I dl'ed?;) Exactly under this newest link.

Oh, interface - it's included but I made it in wrong way. The files are in mods/[version]/interface-gfx.

If you mean that the flash lights in my weapons are made using alpha transparency.

Flare gun - I was thinkin' about it yesterday but I still think where to put it.

Flare gun ? .... I gues you could it akimbo for duals or as a ruger. Or even maybe a M79 replacement. Imagination is your only border/limit.

Yes, I using mostly Steyr AUG, but sometimes, more frequently sniper rifle like Barrett, WA2000 because rare and almost perfect, dream sniper rifle, now only extraordinary weapon for collectors in real life. In fact, I dont like that kind of weapons but this is exception (or too much Hitman) ;)

But if we are talking about the real warfare is better the current sniper rifles, the Chey Tac is a awesome sniper rifle. And actually the best i think is Barrett M8A1. I dont like WA2000 so much, but i think is a good weapon.

I couldn't respond without giving at least one new weapon :)

So here you have the FN2000. I made it using not very good image so it can look a bit "not nice".

Btw: Sky, Barret M82A1 is powerfull but it's not very good weapon because its low accuracy (~2 Moa). Seals complain for it much and some time ago the supply departament made tender for the new .50 rifle. The best candidat is propably AI AS50.

I think their shape is really nice, great job on that. For contsructive criticism, which we all love, I think you could add a little more depth to the colors. Propably it's just the green background, but they look a bit plain ^^

This one that is included too my newest mods is primitive as hell. My cousin made it for me in ~10 minutes. The real one would take damn lot of time and I see him only sometimes and from year I haven't seen him at least one time when he wasn't makin some math, or other excetrise...

Not exactly, there's intensive or extensive work. Someone must do do more frequently and someone must have bigger break between modding something or take his mod in parts. Best method learning for A is regularly modding,  but B cant do that because he became worster, stereotypical, schematic and not creative, just burning itself to dust and lost inspiration, any motivation to continue project.
Final result still can be different in many ways but I cant explain this why. In theory, this cause higher differences between styles, between (personal!) quality and public popularity, also that strange thing, different amount of spirit and knowledge, originality, new techniques and ideas created etc. That important because determine whose people like your mod, who are more empiric and who is more theoretic, more artist or scientist mind. Yes, exist few special tricks to make that border blurred but final work never lie, every modder in that moment is as open book, you cant hide fact if you created this step-by-step fast based on experience, or trying to make something original, different, but after long time. Both tactics are good as long as used by right people. This text cant show what I think abut it, what is it in reality. Art based on knowledge gained by experience is different than art based on knowledge gained by nothing, inspiration, mostly imagination... They arent better, they aren't same, only different.

That one is from Ultimate CS Mod and based on Java, but... it's really necessary making external mod launchers? Why not to make hard, classic mods with traditional alternatives/extra stuff? Because it look superb/omb/another game? Good modder can be accepted as pro or quality creator however he make good mod. Nothing more, not idiotic ownage omfg unnecessary things. Let's make mods for Soldat like mods for Soldat and dont copy from other game mods trends/styles.

Btw I not against configurators, but only to keep everything ok, extend functionality of original part, not making only unnecessary things to lurking for more downloads and keep main mod only good looking but like feck in categories for ex.  composition and aesthetics. ;) Nice addition, but mod not die faster wiithout it, also yes, correct placed folders with alternatives are important, best if in all mods looks similiar to easier check how to use something in practice, with defalult set, if player isn't too lazy and known Soldat well, will known how to use it.

I learned how to make maps (http://forums.soldat.pl/index.php?topic=23773.new#new) but for now I'm not in the mood for maping ;D. I've got one new almost done but I have to experiment a bit with multi-texturing.

You did some secret weapons or those are all what you have? (is so much! and great, nice job ;D)

But you like the earlier ones? If not I just can't do anything about this because it's just my style (I realy try to make my weapons detailed) but if you mean just the 2 newest ones, I'll remake 'em. I made 'em after a litle break and I wasn't in mood for makin' weapons but I just thinked that I have nuttin' to do. Tec-9 can't be realy detailed because it's small (it's in the same scale as my Mac-11, TMP etc. and P90 is just a bit plain weapon.

I also read much. I read "Strzał" ("The Shoot" in english) magazine from 2 years. It's all about weapons and some articles are realy funny.

It's flat weapon... ejection port... (attached pic to compare). Box mag - how can I improve it 'cause it's not very good imo too.

Its nice, but change that law ini, add more reload time, its to short, you need to wait for the startup, thats nice, but when you shot one time you can stay as a 'automatic' one
its really hard to kill with that mp5... could you add some dmg?

Hmm... But it's mortar and mortar are always very speed loaded, I think it's balanced by the start up time that's so long that it would be very hard to survive if you would play online. Fully teamwork or die ;)

Yes, almost all weapons in .ini are made shity but now I'm workin' on .ini that would be as realistic as it can be.

Sadly, Sky's right, the M60 is pretty bleh. There isn't any depth or shading of any sort. The frame and general color set work well, but it needs m0ar detail. M4's pretty good, but has some of the same problem.

No problem with the criticism. Even I think that this M60 is bad. But you can see that when I don't mod for some time it's a bit hard to return to makin' good weapons but when I make few after brake I get back to form.

Look at P90 and TEC-9. Ther're also made after brake and they're not as good as rest but check also my creations from 20 - end of February. 17 weapons - modding spree ;D.

In next tuesday and wednesday I have exams that result would decide about that what job I could get in the future and who I could become so I must pass 'em at least good.

That's why I'm so inactive lastly. Even if I'm on PC, most time I play CoD4 'cause of tiredness.

I will work on it. Now I must remake all weapons ;D. I wanted to make this mod traditional (.bmp's) but I realised it's archaic so I decided to remake it to .png. I think I'm gettin better at makin' .png weapons.

Better M4 and M4A1 SOPMOD and also new M16A3.

Which handle is better (M4 or M4A1 SOPMOD, I mean the grip that is near triger)?

Uhm, actually it does since it's actually 4 mods in one package [has a dedicated launching program]. You do know you can download this mod, right? The way you worded it sounds as if you were assuming this was a in-progress mod.

And one last thing... I notice all you're showing us is the interface graphics. If this is a full mod, where are the gosteks and weapons-gfx?

Doesn't mean they don't exist of course. Well that's only half true... Only gostek modification for the mod is the hat for each of the 4 themes. Weapons-gfx are all there, but it's not really like there's a lot to show since they're all grey sticks [except for the '74s] and is it really worth showing the in-game for all 89 [mighta counted wrong] if only 4 of them are easily picked out for what they are?

Oh yeah, Pafel, AK's in-game mag is pretty fugly. Doesn't fit and feels overly large. Inflatable Skykanden sez: "please upgrade." :)

Works fine on my computer and I downloaded about an hour ago just to confirm my above posts.

Eradication Wars does have its dedicated weapons.ini but Ivahn never updated the configurator for v1.4.x and because the ini lacks the recoil=X line, Soldat ignores the custom WM. Ah, yeah so I think I added the missing lines to get the WM working. I don't believe there is any released configurator out there right now that supports the 1.4.x WM.

Sorry, but lastly I'm inactive. I've got a lot of work.

The problem you'are talking about is propably caused by wrong file placement. Mod folders (Day_Forces etc.) must be placed in Soldat/Mods, and the Universal Forces.exe start application must be placed in Soldat folder.

The mod have .ini's in 1.4.1/2 version as I good remember (with recoil).

The mod is already done and downloadable (link in 1st post) but I'm makin' new better version (.png gfx, better sounds, more weapons and new way better config that I even don't know how do for now) and it's in ~50% progress.

Btw: Ak-74U not AKs-74U. AKs is prefix of the name of AKs-47. Althought naming of AK is different everywere but I think that Ak-74U is real name.

Btw2: I tried already makin' OC-14 but without alpha transparency it's imposible to make it lookin' good in my style. AN-94 - I propably won't do it. It's ugly and it's not used by any army.

If it's from wrong file placement, then the installer was set up wrong because all I did was install it, and it put the files wherever it wanted to. Also, the default directory that showed up was c:\program files\soldat, when soldat's default directory is c:\soldat.

The AN-94 isn't used by anybody?? I could have sworn it was at least used by Spetsnaz and whatever other Russian special forces there are...

Not everyone installs in C:\Soldat. I personally installed in C:\Program Files\[series of folders]\Soldat. You did install into [directory]\Soldat, though, right? Not into [dir]\Soldat\Mods?
Usually when I unpack stuff I unpack into a 'quarantine' folder so I can see all the parts of the installment in front of me to see where to then paste it into.
Would be nice to leave a note on where to install, though.

Well... I got it working now, but uh... I have to say, your ingame graphics suck, and to be honest, in most of your interface graphics, due to so-called "dithering," I can't tell where one part of a gun ends and another begins. you made a lot of weapons, but they mostly look like crap. the guns just look like one solid mass, and due to the shade of grey most of the guns are, you can barely even see them ingame. and why is the  M14 so damn short? Perhaps you should have concentrated on making a few guns look good rather than squeezing 50-some crude-looking objects from your anus. There's absolutely no contrast in them except for the AKs due to the orange and "wood" parts. Make the in-games darker, and give them some more contrast and actual shading. That goes for the interface graphics too.

Shading = showing varying amounts of light on different parts of the gun. What you've done looks like randomly placed pixels. That's not the same thing.

And by the way, I love the double standards around here. this mod isn't technically complete yet, and he didn't do a gostek. he made a lot of weapons and an interface... how can this belong in full mods? my definition pretty much matches the one listed in the forum rules... one in which all or almost all of the components are edited. All I see changed here are the weapons, their sounds, 1 small piece of gostek, and the interface. Nobody said it absolutely required gosteks, but there are other things that could have been modified. And besides, I was mainly referring to the fact that it's not complete. He's still working on it. And while I totally disagree with that, others bitched at me and Gnoblar for not having a complete mod at the time of posting. All I ask is that there is consistency, that's all.

Go complain to the game publishers that patch up games they turn out, then. UF was completed a long time ago but Pafel chose to add some weapons later -- that's a fundamental difference between what Gnob had.

Oh yeah, lots of other stuff could be modified. Hey, son, your mod doesn't have modified animations and texture and extra maps so it's going to get moved over to Partia-- O shet look, all but what, 4 mods here also don't have... O shet!

Ok not for what I'm postin'. I'm workin' on this mod from time to time and now I have some time to do that.

1st of all. On 1st page you have 3 new guns (AKS-47, MP5 SD6 in desert camo with Aimpoint sight and M4A1 with tan parts with the same sight).

2nd. I'm gonna make guns downloadable like Dairy done so stay tuned. I'll start from the guns I've got already done and that I've got good sounds for.

Btw: Lastly I reformated my PC and lost newest version of mod. I've got all int-gfx but I've lost some good sounds and few weapon-gfx.

Btw2: If anyone could sum up all sugestions on already done weapons then I'll maybe remake 'em.

I'm not a fan of this particular style but the guns do look pretty good.  Hk. 45 and Barrett M82 Desert are really good.  Also, I like your M249 shapes.  The shading is really simplistic but it looks damn good in a lot of places.  But the minigun and some others look like you just added a kind of gradient and left it at that :(

What can I do, it's just my style :). I try to progressively repair bad shaded weapons etc but I just try to make 'em fit overal style.

Complete outline? Is it nesesary? The olive around trigger is quite dark. Larger trigger - I'd have to make trigger-guard bigger so I'd have to remake whole gun.

I like your HK .45 but the bottom outline of the nose (where you have the black pixel, then yellow pixel pattern) the yellow pixels should be darker.

And, Beretta M93R looks too skinny xD

You mean bolt? It's the same as in M92F but your right, with those wooden plates it looks too shiny (will remake).

Only proble is that I don't remember pass ;D. Does anyone know how to hack it? Secon one is GTA 2. Mangled supplied me with sounds. I've got all Interface gfx, I've got idea for ingame gfx. But there would be a problem with fillin' al the weapon slots.

Does "F.S.U.F - Full Spectrum Universal Forces" name has any sense?

If not what's better?

FSF - Full Spectrum Forces
FSAU - Full Spectrum Attack Unit
UFAU - Universal Forces Attack Unit
USU - Universal Special Unit
UPAU - Universal Purpose Attack Unit
GPSF - General Purpose Strike Forces

It would be better to select one that's overal not only for one unit.

I think you should stick with the actual one. Universal forces sounds ok to me. Those others are unnecessary long and not really logical. Makin' 4 words for organisation and all of them are kind of too similar or not really important.

Or as I suggested - Santa. Something with him, like Santa's universal elf force.

You mean the guns that are already downloadable? Imo the in-game gfx and sounds don't stand of the good standard of Interface-gfx but if you want I can add some screenies.

I was actually thinking of putting up a rule that if the [full mod] mod was made relatively recently, say, in the last half year, that clear in-game shots are necessary or else there'll be some penalties [haven't thought of one that isn't too punishing yet]. Most mods won't have a problem but I can think of some other mods that only show menu gfx.

Or I'll just add a request that all new mods from now on include shots of gameplay.

Yes, menu guns are nice and all but if you spend most of your time looking at menu guns, then your Soldat skills really must suck xD

2. Throwing empty mag into drop-bag.
3. Gettin' mew mag from mag pouch.
4. Pullin' in new mag to gun.

Those are real weapons! This one was made because SEALs' complained much about SPR so their factory (CRANE) remade it for them mounting lily barrel and some other stuf. It's also chambered by other bullets than standard M16/M4. M16/M4 uses M855 'ball' while Rceec (it's how this gun is also named) uses M262 'match'

If you mean those variations of M4/M16, I've got SOPMOD kit made so I can remake the body I've already have to any version of M4.

Sounds. As you see, those variations won't need much sounds. For example whole M16/M4 family will have one sound for fire slightly changed depending on version and few reload sounds with I won't have much problem since I bought tactical vest ;D .

Stuff like SL-8 have really tight gamuts so they look almost like the effect you get if you do a shrinkjob. You do fine with colored stuff like tan versions etc but a lot of your gray stuff lack contrast.

Maybe you're right but look at any foto of this plastic gun. It's such plain that it's hard to put any details on it, same with AN-94.

You're talkin' 'bout ArmA2 I guess. If it's supposed to have same (or higher) requirements than ArmA then, no. My PC (3GHz, GForce 9600GT, 3GB RAM) can't handle ArmA on medium details so if the new one would need more power then I'd have to buy completly new PC...

Guys you're right that I'm bust but I'll slowly add new weapons and relase 'em for download as I have some already ready and I'm working on new.

It takes a while to make good weapon. I make completly new sounds and .ini to make weapons realistic and balanced. I have to make a lot of tests for every weapon.

Btw: Those few weapons that are downloadable are in lod configurations with old .ini's etc. but I'd relase new only is I'd have more and if I'd have claear standard to follow (for gfx and sfx I've already have good ones but that's not all).

It's quite funny to write here after so long time ;D (damn! over 1 year!).

Yesterday I took a look around forums after installin' Soldat (I really had nuttin' to do ;) ) and tried on remakin' old G36C which came out quite well. Today I've ended whole G36 family (maybe not whole but 7 guns of type is quite a lot) and realised that my modding skill's are still ok :P .

I'm ending my exams this week and I'm gonna have 5 months of free time and maybe I'd leave some of it to Soldat.

No pain :P . Download version contains the oldest version of that mod. All of weapons are beeing redone but, what's obvious, it takes time. Currently, I'm fighting with .ini problems and also I'm trying to make one version of new mod to fit standard soldat weapons.ini (playable online).

I may try to remake that old Universal Forces mod to fit new standards (new sounds and gfx). Hopefuly, that won't take long ;D .

Well... I was wondering if there's another download link because gamefront doesn't let download from Europe (or most of countries from there). I was searching for another download links in google but nothing so if anyone could maybe post here other link then I'd really appreciate that.
