Title: Bink related ideas...
Post by: Will on November 03, 2007, 08:09:06 am
While modding soldat I've noticed some things are missing IMO. Lets start with:

Bink and Selfbink: why not make these separate values so an automatic weapon could have selfbink, but would be also binked when shot.

Minimum Self Bink- Well, what if a weapon could have a constant selfbink(from the moment you shoot it it will have that bink already). Something similiar to mov acc just that it is active even while standing.

Maximum Self Bink-a max self bink value (the crosshair can't get any bigger and the weapon can't get more innacurate. (would be sueful for weapons like minigun :P)

This would be good for increased modding capabilities, F12

I guess it could prove useful, but it won't be used much.

Bink and Selfbink: It's a tiny bit one-sided against autos, isn't it?

Minimum Self Bink: Why would the gun be shaking while it is standing still?

Maximum Self Bink: Sounds unbalenced, but I guess anything goes with mods. ::)

Bink and Selfbink: It's a tiny bit one-sided against autos, isn't it? Who said anything about changing the official balance? Plus, if the ability to change any weapon to and from automatic is added (and it should be) this would have much more of a point.

Minimum Self Bink: Why would the gun be shaking while it is standing still? Basically, an inaccurate gun.

Maximum Self Bink: Sounds unbalenced, but I guess anything goes with mods. ::) This one's a good idea too.

hehe I'm glad almost everyone have positive opinions on this. I have many more ideas for modding soldat, but i guess they would be selfish cause only I would use them :D

Nice ideas.

The "Inaccurate Weapon" would fit for the M79.   ;D

yeah, and it would also encourage more people to try and balance the weapons for their own server.
Also setting the type of a weapon would also be cool(deagle, chainsaw, knife, law, barret) and would fit with auto/manual fire. There should be some more stuff fixed like, if you want a weapon to shoot m79 grenade, but don't want it to look the same as m79-bullet.bmp/png, I think that the game should read from the file the weapo was meant to be.

And who wants explosive bullets, trails on cluster grenades and fragments and a fully working flamer type of setting for a primary.(so a weapon doesn't shoot invisible bullets if you set the bullet type to flame.)

I was also thinking of another thing related to these spectator thingys. How would it be if you would be able to view the cursor of the player you're spectating? In my opinion it would be great for some people trying to learn the game. For example, if one is having problems in handling a certain gun, he could view an expert playing with the gun, and learn quite a few things! Opinions.
