I just need to know how to make the PM engine, Upload maps, memberlist and so.... I am giving it a try with Frontpage, and maybe jrgp will help me developing this.

This is actually an interesting idea - letting people pick up map projects that have been dropped. Could lead to interesting ideas - and also a good way to find inspiration for mapmaking.

I won't help you with php. Just search some scripts etc.
and of course you need better layout. Immediately. Use some good graphic programs like photoshop/gimp.

He's not whining, it's feedback that you could use - basically get a better website or just forget it and give us a link directly to the forums - the website will probably end up hurting your more than help.

I would recommend using readymade sites or CMS like PHP-Nuke (http://phpnuke.org/index.php).

Well the site is always more individual if you make it out of scratch yourself, but managing the content, adding maps, pics, etc. is really time consuming and hard...

I made my own main site by hand to link everything together. Rest was readymade, forums, statsite...

and no, dont add any sound, music or flashy stuff on your site. 95% of the visitors will get annoyed and leave your site.

Just 5 guys registered in the forums, I didn't get enough support to forward this idea. Now the site is down due to inactivity.

Ah, you had a good run sounds like it.

Just take the knowledge you've learned and apply it to a better project.

Well, I couldn't do this thing, but maybe someone can take this idea and do the web and so... if someone is interested, it's up to you to do it, I don't care, and ever more now, that mapmaking isn't interesting me anymore due to nobody did add any of my maps to a server... it's a shame.  :(

Dude, none of my maps gt on any server either, but it ain't a reason 2 give up. It's rare that any map from SF gets on any server...
