Upper left hand corner= Everything you need.

What OS is that?

I've got like 50 million icons but a feckty background so i don't really care, plus most of it isn't my crap.
I put my stuff in a folder called Crap, Or My stuff, or something similar And if i get more then a folder of it, i delete one and start again.

So that's Ubuntu Right :)
Cool. I've no idea how it works.

EPIC

I hid the icons on my desktop, but I have about 20 icons in my quicklaunch bar.

I cut my clicking in half when I use the mozilla shortcut, that is why there are 2 icons and 1 folder.

I don't get why anyone would keep icons on their desktop when they have the quicklaunch bar.  On the desktop, the icons are likely to be hidden, but in the quicklaunch bar, you can start up programs at any time.

Speaking of starting up, does anyone actually use the Start menu? (the programs; obviously Run, Search, etc. are kind of useful)

I keep alot of things on my desktop... pretty much anything I'm going to be using spontaneously such as coursework or artwork which is in progress. As well as stuff for modding such as recordings and samples which I can just drag into Audacity.

I use it for the things that don't make it to my object dock. I used to pin the starup menus full with all of my programs, but since I got the dock I use it for my Tablet preferences, paint, and notepad.

I use the start menu a lot, not so much the programs list, but my top programs are on it. I also never use my empty quicklaunch bar.

yeah i like not using any icons at all, it lets me click more times when i need to open things

and then if i had any friends i'd bring them over to my house and they'd be like "whoah dude how do you use your computer with no icons?" and i could be like

"ubanto, b*tches. check and mate."

Free OS that can easily be described as the fix to everything bad about Windows, minus all the compatibility.

If you don't have a server then you have no real reason to use Linux other than being a nerd-fag and trying to show off in front of other nerd-fags by having an 'indie' operating system which does nothing of great use.

Not to start an argument, but that's completely untrue.  While there are a lot of fanboys that do show off with the whole "Linux Scene", Ubuntu is an excellent operating system all on it's own.  Until you've used it for more than three days as your primary operating system, I suggest you stop bad mouthing things you've probably never even thoroughly tested.  Ubuntu can do everything Windows can do, sometimes better.  One of the only real problems is compatibility.  Even at that, there are workarounds that make this a trivial issue for a good number of programs.
