Just out of interest, how many of you players atchually use arrows OR WSAD keys?
I personally prefer arrow keys because there seperated from the other keys and delete, page up, page down, shift, numpad insert are also right next to you. I feel more control this way.
I'v always used arrows for as long as i can remember my setup:
fire/fly - usual mouse
grenades - right shift (little finger is always on this button, unavoidable with arrow keys)
throw weapon - middle mouse button (My fingers practically always on this ready (knife)
prone - delete (half a cm away from middle finger)
switch weapon - mouse wheel (quick access right next to fingers)
then arrows keys for movement. (organized)
reload - numpad insert (right next to my thumb)
how about you guys?

I used arrow keys when I first played soldat, because I was a big noob. Now I use WASD. As I do all my movement with my left hand, and all combat with the right hand, there really is no other option for me if I wish to be comfortable.
-
Neither.
Movement: E, D, S, F
Fire/Fly: Mouse
Prone: C
Grenade: G
Change weapon: A
Throw weapon: W
Reload weapon: R

I used WASD all my life until today XD
Thanks for the help Ryan, I use the same as him, besides I use Ctrl for prone and 0 for nades
-
I used to use arrows for all my games (except racing), but now it's WASD all the way. Even if I wanted to go back to arrows, my laptop has no numpad, so there aren't enough buttons nearby. :P
-
I guess you have no option then, but it really depends on peoples keyboards too i guess, everyone has different hardware, mine is some logitec ( forgot the model name) but it's more favourable for me to use arrows considering how close some of the other buttons are to it.

WASD has more buttons close to it than arrow keys ;P

WASD, since the beginning, i use a 'wave' keyboard from microsoft, so the keys are at an angle on each side and its more comfortable to use WASD than arrow keys as i'd be all cluttered up, unless i moved my keyboard, which is a waste of 1.5 seconds.
-
Default ftw. I've tried that arrow key stuff. I find it really hard to paly with, I've gotten too used to the default settings to change anything.
-
I used arrow keys when I was new to soldat then I changed to WASD after a month.
-
wasd, defaults suits me
-
Wasd seems fine. Never needed to try other setups.
-
I still have to get used to it but, now I dodge much easier, and I have to move around less. I don't even have to look when I have to go prone, or anything. now I use all fingers, and I can walk or go into prone while throwing a knife, something you can't do in default without hurting, or breaking something.
-
All along I've only used Soldat's default WSAD setup. I tried the arrow keys once and decided it was wayy too uncomfortable because of the size and location of my keyboard relative to that of my mouse.
-
I use WASD For movement, E for grenades Q for weapon swapping X for prone and the mouse for jetting, firing and the mouse wheel for throwing ( Which i might put to be F or g)
It depends on what hand you use, Left handers use the arrows, Right handers use WASD because the mouse is on the left hand side for lefties and on the right for righties, it makes sense :)
-
I've always used the default settings- W,A,S,D
I like the way that everything is close together, so I can access everything and anything.
Also I'm very used to it, so I won't change.
-
Default - WASD All except for prone which is space :D
-
I use the normal settings, except right mouse button is for nades, W is for jet, space is for jumping and Z is for prone.
