The newest version of Eradication Wars is now released!
After countless hours and days of sleepless nights I got the whole thing wrapped up finally.
I present you from deep of my corners of my room:

::Eradication Wars::
The ultimate mecha total conversion for soldat


Eradication Wars is a total conversion for the freeware game ''soldat''.
Its based on Mechas/Mobile Suits/Gundams.
A mecha is a large humanoid shaped machine that is piloted by a human pilot.
And this modification turns the soldat's default modern warfare look into the hottest sideviewed
futuristic mecha eradication-fest to give you the true mecha feel like never before!


This version includes the following:
-Over 50 weapons
-New interface
-New sound effects
-New particle effects
-New powerup boxes
-New ingame text
-New fonts
-New soldier graphics >>> Mechas
-13 new maps (Downloadable seperately HERE (http://forums.soldat.pl/index.php?topic=15639.0))
-Blue sniperline
-Weapon selection program (Credits to Ivahn)
-New animations
-New explosions!
-Unique ''blast effects'' (+ 5 alternative effects)
And much more!

This version is completely diffirent to the previous one (Ver 5.1) and every weapon has much better shading than ever before. Also the interface, powerup boxes and the majority of sounds (over 70%) have been changed.

Also the maps have been moved to a seperate file that can be found HERE (http://forums.soldat.pl/index.php?topic=15639.0).
Also the WM (Weapon Mod) has been disabled due to lack of usage and preferance to play online. Since now this mod has become fully dedicated for online play.

Wow, nice mod and happy birthday :D
I love all the custom text like "request wars" and stuff :p
but the sniper line is too thick ;(
and oh on the inf map is the water meant to, just "stop" in midair? it looks weird :s
but overall it's one of the coolest mods I've ever seen :D

You could've waypointed teh maps cuz I believe there wont be many servers with these maps
altough they're great and really fitin teh mecha theme.

I have an idea how to make your mod have more sparks and stuff.
you could make bigger sparks(?) when bullet collides with ground (like in mecha mod only bigger)

Which explosions you mean?
-If you mean the main big one, that was made by Tattoo.
-The flames coming out of the flamer are modded from the Tattoo's explosion.
-The blast effects (the ''blood'') didnt take much time in making, but the testing was really long.

Well yea i added You to msn, i better like mine "cartoon-like" explosions in vegetable wars :D [insert devil smilie here]... but the one u got in mod, im using with special operations mod, got from soldatmods.tk :)

i remeber, before i new about these forums... which was for a long while after i was playing soldat.... that i got my mods from http://soldatmods.edgegaming.com/integramod/portal.php.... The've got heaps of stuff there and its all fairly good to try out some new stuff, i remember getting some of the best mods i've seen from there...

Those interface-gfx are nearly as good as Lord_Ivahn's own. Weapons 0 & 6 especially appeal to me. You certainly have improved, numgun! :o

I observe that neither of the maps are waypointed... ;)

K, there's gonna be an update released soon. (sparks-gfx changes and default.txt tweaks.)
I'll add a weapon desciption on the first topic after this post.

Keron: If you feel like making waypoints it would be great! The only waypointing problem will  be in the catapults.
I guess the bots should avoid it and just fly at the enemy base instead of using it.
You should get the bots prone on the launch area if you want to make them fly forward on the catapult. If they hit in standing position, they will blast off directly up.

See what you can do, if you want to. ;)

Also the blue mech indicator on the health bar (interface) is Ivan's. Drawing a red cross instead of that would look stupid :P The rest is fully made by me.

This mod is definitely worth it.

I hosted a server that had "ERA MOD SERVER!!!!!" for the name and only a few people joined though.

Some fag even had the balls to say "all robots wtf this sucks".  He got kicked.

Yes, but try these 2 thing yourself on the map:

1. jump on the launch platform while being in prone.
2. jump on the launch platform while being in standing position and press forward (the movement key that the opposite way of the ship)

see the diffirence. result of my try:
1. you will fly diagonally forward up.
2. you will fly directly up, and if pressing forward too, you will go you will go slowly forward.

If you want, I can make a demo where ill demonstrate the use of the catapult. just say yes or no.

So, you are suggesting Me to make the waypoints? xD

EDIT: I can give it a try but it might result bots either drowning in the sea or getting destroyed by the mighty border beam. Theres lot of flying on those maps. and its quite hard to keep them on the right track...

EDIT2: Also I think i didnt explain it right but when you take the 3rd route on the catapult it fire you very high and the bots might loose the path because of going too high.

EDIT3: Yayzor! I got the bots out of the their ships on ctf_minerva and they even fought few times!
im gettin good at this waypointing thing.

Btw, I included the demo videos to demonstrate how I use the catapult.

The next update will contain these:
-balanced WM.ini
-better default.txt
-waypoints on both maps
-few changes in sparks-gfx

i allready posted them.... : P

I've been trying to make the waypoints myself and so far i've managed to get the bots across the map onto the other ship and get into the flag room. the bots wont be using the catapult too well though, it would require them to prone if id want them to launch properly. (hmm, maybe the ''stop and camp'' thing would make them do that...)
All is left to make a path for blue team to get to the red flag. and test if they can bring it back! xD
the inf_heavensbase hasnt been waypointed yet. I was thinking to put a waypoint for the red team into the upper left corner of the map that  that would make the bots use all their jets to get safely across the sea and fall on top of the blue base. The sea is hurting btw, so the bots should avoid it.

Btw:
-WM fully finished
-default.txt fully finished
-waypointing on ctf_minerva is at 60%

Man, I screwed up totally with the blue teams waypoints... i guess ill upload the current waypointing (mess) and let you correct it keron. ;(

I might as well tell you that you've done an amazing job, but there are a few unnecessary polygons on the map which I'm deleting (only polygons inside polygons, or those that can be covered by others; none should affect any of the launch systems), and I'm also fixing some texture and vertex connection problems. Nice work!

While you are doing that ill try to improve the inf_heavensbase by my best and so far I added some surface under the water to make it look more exciting and the bunkers on the top of the blue teams island are much better aswell, and also i've started waypointing it too. I got the blues to camp and even fly at the reds ship base, but I guess this thing is scripted, coz they fly somewhile then just stop in midair and do nothing and fall into the sea and explode! (hurts polys underwater) but i got them to camp, walk around the base, and get out of nasty places. (except water). I think i will change the underwater area into normal polygon to make it as another route (or even make it the primary route). otherwise i'd have to guess where the bots fly that i could get the fly to the end. aww man. what a mess xD

lol, no, no! :P Bots will only follow a waypoint for roughly half a map screen; any farther and they'll literally forget where to go, even if it's just left or right. Don't worry about that stuff; I'll handle all the waypoints for both maps.

water.BMP is redundant; you can get the exact same thing by putting down a blue-tinged blank.BMP ;) Shall I do so?

nah, you dont have to change the water.bmp thingy. Btw, I managed to waypoint the inf_heavensbase! Almost tho...
youll have to be lucky that the bots could jump and jet into the blues tunnel. Otherwise the blues waypointing is allmost flawless, they can get to the white flag through the back of the space ship. The bots are capable of doing a cap but they have problems at the underwater access tunnel.

Im really looking forward to see how the waypoints were supposed to be... hmm. (in both maps)

nah, you still don need to do it. it looks simply perfect right now, say, what do you think of the waypoints i did on inf_heavensbase? arent the ridiculous? xD
Atleast ive learned how to make the bots do backflips.
Also i remember there was a problem for the bots to get into the bunker where the black flag is. they can enter it, but they have to do 100+ jump excersizes that they would realize that they are supposed to go there :P

lol. Maybe you need to position the jump waypoint more to the side. Remember, bots perform a movement exactly; don't just put a waypoint right above the one that connects to it (unless it's told to wait for a few seconds); if you jump straight up right after running, you still drift forward a little ;) Same with bots! Put 'em more diagonally and see what happens.
I'm amazed at how fast you grasped waypointing :o

BTW, I just tried the third launch technique and find it useless; when you bump into it and run towards the launch, by the time you hit the nose you're basically running at regular speed. :P

Not really, the third launch technique might be useless in inf_heavensbase, but the point of that launch is to give you an advanced bounce only upwards. the mid route also shoots you up, but it does it diagonally.

Well, the waypoints near the bunker do have the wait for 5 secs and 1 secs but the bots dont obey them.

Besides that, can you still do the rest of the waypointing please? you are a pro at it. ;)

sry, i uploaded those 2 map where i started the waypointing for YOU to DO the REST of the WAYPOINTS. And fix the map if you want.

And yes, Chakra does now how to waypoint. (see his manual in the bots forums)

So these maps are now waiting to be ''handled'' by you. I'm not going to do anything to them so you are free to waypoint it how ever you like and even delete all my waypoint to make your (if thats neccesary.

lol, his post still answers that. I live in the States (even worse, I'm on the west coast; GMT-8) and he's in Finland (GMT+2), so when one of us is awake, the other's sleeping, so IMing is useless. :P I don't see how this kind of posting is disturbing the peace of the thread anyways ;)

Okay, I'll go revise random stuff. I think there are some polygon colors and vertex connections I can improve as well...

Oh, and I really don't think Chakra knows how to waypoint jack. :P He just copied those threads over from the old forums; read the very last sentence of that particular thread—it was originally posted by Soap.

On the map "HeavenBase" (or something), the base looks awful for me ^^, well its only my opinion.

Btw, just to warn you:
in the sea (under the sea) the some polygons vertices have been put on top of the big bottom polygon to prevent from bots from getting stuck. when they run at the sharp edge of the poly, they somehow get stuck and cant even sprint out of it. i fixed this by putting the vertices lower

Make a shortcut of Soldat.EXE. In the Target line, put -mod X after everything else that's already in there; X is the name of the folder of the mod inside your ..Soldat\Mods folder (I forgot what the folder's defaultly called).

If you don't want to replace any files, at least drag over the Maps and Scenery-gfx folders over the defaults to get the two maps included (nothing will be overwritten even though Windows is dumb like that; just a few files will be added to your current).

If you had tried them you might have noticed that they werent perfect, as the they look wrong when facing right with the soldier. But as the idea was nice in my opnion, i dicided to release them. feel free to use them with this mod if you feel so!

I just like to say that the sounds from the mod doesn't make the weapons unique.
Cause they're almost the same.
And there's no thrill because the weapon's attack damage has been reduced (except for minigun >.<).
But I love the maps. :D

I love the maps too.  One of my favorite parts to the mod.  My only real complaints about it is the nonexistent reload on the Nuke Launcher (at least make it really slow!), and the weakened sniper.  Otherwise, all-around sweetness.

Well, actually while making the WM I had in mind to ppl use it only in duels, but that flopped quite hard. because soldat didnt have the maneuverability for it. it would require the ''immidiate jet discharge'' feature in soldat, but I dont think MM is ever going to implement that. But the main point is to make the weapons balanced and ''weak'' that you could feel that youre destroying an heavily armored mech, not a human. as for the Nuke launcher, for balancing reasons I made it shoots only 2 rockets. thats it. it will NOT RELOAD after it. (nuclear weapons are expensive anyways, ya know)

And as Keron is delaying me, I thought of upgrading the mod with a major(1) improvent bunch.
Right now im working on the new interface, its gonna be metal-tech styled.
and I've changed the most sounds aswell (mostly movement sounds and and explosion, death and bonus sounds too.)

I realize that the nuke launcher is supposed to be on your shoulder, but it's only like that when you're facing right.  When you're facing left, it's on your hip, practically. 0_o

yeah, thats it. uber-hot sharpnels of fire that are ripped of the mechs. it looks cool.
I guess I wont make em bigger but I might change one of the files that it would look more varied.

Well, I've been working on them a lot lately, so I think I'll be able to get them out soon. Bravo waypoints are just about complete for inf_heavensbase; I just need to wrap up Alpha's. Nearly all the waypoints have been complete on ctf_Minerva for a while; it's just getting the bots, when invading an enemy ship, to come up through the bottom-rear shaft that's difficult.

They'll be out soon. This week! :P (Or next)

hmm... you could do the bottom shaft with a method that will make the bots grin by the ships bottom into the shaft.
(doesnt look too well but its a possibility)

Or just add another asteroid rock under the bottom entrance and that would make the waypointing a bit easier ; )
dont torture yourself too much if its too hard.

Great weapon-design, all others graphics,...make this mod more realistic than Mecha mod, or good idea to take realistic weapon damage for that big mechs.
Well, Nuke Launcher is good without reloading, what give player bigger warning about accuracy or shoot with that nuke missiles, nice flames.

Yeah, I know what WinRar is, but I tried to copy those files and paste it, but it messes with Soldat too. I tried to play regular Soldat and all of the text things like Destroyed instead of Killed and Mechs instead of players were changed....

Well, I've got the right ship functioning, probably only because the asteroid on its side is closer. :P Now for the left...

EDIT Dude, ctf_Minerva's completely defying a basic rule of waypointing which I almost always abide by when having soldaten jet. I think I might need to scrap usage of the western chute (at least, for Bravo so far. Haven't tested Alpha yet...) xD

I think that's the point, to balance them out with the FRC type-e7.

I'm more or less finished with ctf_Minerva. All I can do now is just check Alpha's waypoints entering the backs of the bases....

I dont know if you got my PM (several months ago) Youre free to put a new asteroid under that bloody rear exit. and to modify the map in whatever way you want. just keep the main idea in one piece.
also I wanted to say if you could put the ship on heavensbase closer to the waters surface (leave about 2-3 cm/ 1-2 inches) and a about 10cm (4-5inches) to the left, closer to the base.


@Kurrus:
version 5.0 will be out when I get all the maps ready (including kerons and mine).
Also I dicided to leave out the new minigun. (Ill release it with my other mod i've been ''making'')
About the WM: im going to make them little less powerful than the default WM. (so theyre gonna more powerful than now.)
Btw, the robot taisen OG 2 will be out very soon which might cause more ideas and delaying.

Note! the only way to get to the other side is to use a jumpgate.
The lower one work like this: drop on the middle blue super poly while pressing left or right.
The higher one works like this: get in the middle part of the gate and do a backflip while standing still.

But that would take forever? Even Keron, the waypt pro is having a big challenge with the maps I gave.
He is having them almost finished but still it takes lots of time...

If youre good at waypointing I could give the map, but I will also make the waypoints myself. and then I'll see if your are better, then i'll use em.
So its like: competition on who will waypoint faster : P

Edit: ill make the basic and the easiest waypoints and then ill send it to ya.
(so the difficult jumps and jets will be the things to do.)

Yeah, I know what WinRar is, but I tried to copy those files and paste it, but it messes with Soldat too. I tried to play regular Soldat and all of the text things like Destroyed instead of Killed and Mechs instead of players were changed....
EDIT: And I don't have WinRar.

hmm I cant understand what wrong...

After you download it, you have to extract it. you get a folder called 'ERA' in the place you wanted to extract.
Then you open that folder and select everything in it and right-click for copy (or Ctrl + C)
now go to your soldat directory and right click to paste all the stuff there (Ctrl + V)
It WILL ask you if its ok to overwrite, just answer yes to all. or yes.
then when thats done, your soldat should now have ERA. just start the game as usual and play.

Btw, I suggest you download the file again. It might have crashed in the middle of everything, happens to me too.

EDit: wait a minute, what do you mean it messes with soldat? the new texts are part of the mod. since ERA is based on mechas. If you dont what that, then make sure you dont put the default.txt into the soldat directory. (its located in ERA/txt folder)

Is Halo the only futuristic game you play? :P The mod's a combination of many, many mecha series, and so far you're the only one who's complained about it (and seven pages into the thread, too) ;)

@numgun: ctf_Omega doesn't look that hard, actually. The only reason the first two are difficult is because they have TONS of wide-open space, and bots don't usually like jetting for more than 3 seconds ;D So I could tackle that if you want, seeing that I've just about finished with inf_heavensbase and am just putting finishing touches on ctf_Minerva, kind of.

Dont worry about ctf_omega. I got it waypointed couple days ago. There are few small but not serious problems.
I'll fix em up in no time. ;)

1. the bots arent still getting on the upper jumpgate too good. because they dont seem to obey the ''wait 1 sec''
comand... Otherwise they can get to it pretty nicely.
2.bots use only 1 route to get in and get out... im trying to fix that aswell.


And as I said before (ctf_minerva): If you feel like adding more asteroids or modify them, then PLEASE do so.
Im totally not against at more asteroids, I actually DO want more. (more places to hide and get cover.)
And dont make your waypointings impossible. Even I try to simple up my map if the waypoints dont go right.

Also im glad to announce that a new map has been created again. its in a evacuated city in the night for RS play.
Screenies coming soon. (i need to do waypoints on it.)

Well, if you say so, then I'll stick at least one asteroid underneath the Bravo ship, and maybe some more in the center, up and down. This may delay it again, although inf_heavensbase is more or less completed (I originally planned to get them out this weekend if you didn't catch my PM).

And yeah, the bots don't like "Wait 1 second" for some reason :-\ They only obey it about half the time. 5 seconds is better.

true, and if they do, the ''hurts'' poly will make em regret that.

I have 1 more map in mind. the 8th map. Its a rocky orangish desert with 2 bases. Each base will have an artillery to use. Maybe ill put a catapult system in the bases aswell.
But im not too sure of the layout... Should I make it possible to shoot with the artillery to the other base for chaos or make a rocky hill in the middle of the map to render the artilleries only for defensive purposes?

Btw, if you dont know what artilleries im talking about then look at this pic:

As you can see it has 2 cannons in the bravos base on the right. when you throw a nade, it will ''shoot'' it at very high speeds. So basicly you can kill someone with a nade even if he is standing infront of the ship on the left side.

damn, i like the maps that make it ridiculously hard to get somewhere, but let you get there. i would love to spend 2 full minutes scaling the building to snipe from the top. i hate how in cs maps you can escape to the roof where you would have an advantage, and you spontaniously blow up because you cant tell what roofs kill and what dont (seriously, it pisses me off).

are you at least going to have a couple secret spots, like windows you can climb into but look just like all the rest.

And thats not all.
The bots never got to the white flag and the bots only got into the ship few times but flew out of it right away.
the entrance where the bots have to jump into the black flag area is completely doomed. the bots managed to get there after 50+ jump excersizes.
the new jump-pad was a good idea but bots use it very poorly. small advice: make bots move while falling on the jump-pad. the boost will be 10X bigger.
when the bots went out of the ship, they did the same thing as before: Fly high and fly back to home for no apperant reason.
Also the entrance to the flag room in the bunker was a bit bugged.

Summary: Smite keron!


@ Foley: Actually thats not a good idea. As you might have seen that every modder has his own style. most styles dont suit together and if the modder group would make a mod, then whats the theming/subject?
Everyone has his own taste and interest. Im interested in mechas and futuristic stuff. some dont like those.
The best way to make a mod is to make one yourself. and not just like that! you must be motivated atleast somehow. no motivation = bad mod. You must have the concept/idea in your head that would make your mod very good. Otherwise its no good. Sometimes ppl get bored and start creating something new (wraithlike's DB_3dstreets for example) He was bored, but got inspired and motivated when he was making it.

But theres an exeption, mods for bigger games like ut2004 or that have more modding capabilities that require more skills (coding, 3d modeling, all stuff related to get the mod into the game ect.)
There you can have a modding team. soldat is too small for teams, unless theres 2 or more ppl that are VERY intrested in making a mod they both actually want.

lol, you smite me for trying? :P All the bots performed perfectly over here, in using the underwater launch and getting to the flag! The water does not at all look like that on my end, and in all my playtesting, bots never got stuck behind the right EA spawn. (Although I can't say I put any waypoints there to redirect them if they did ;D)

How many bots did you playtest with? Send yours back to me; maybe something became corrupt in the transfer. (Nice sniper and int., BTW)

numgun, play inf_heavensbase with 10 bots on Alpha. They'll get the flag ;) I always playtest with at least 5 on both teams, or even 20 if testing one team. Bots are very fickle when it comes to obeying waypoints...

maybe theres something diffirent with our pc's or soldat. they cant really seem to go ''perfectly'' anywhere at all...

They usually land into the ocean floor, then fly up to the main front of the base, go through the Bravo spawn zone, jump over the hole in the ground after the healing station, and grab the flag...

The screens look the same as the version I sent you, at least, right?

yeah... but they mostly take the cave route on my soldat and get to the flag bunker and after the cave part from the left
and get to the flag room. they seems to reach it but getting back is no use: the bots come to the jump-pad in the ocean and keep bouncing there for a looong time. even blowing the m79 at their balls didnt do the trick : (

Damn man...i feel owned. Since i've been always trying to reach some compromise between mechs (mechwarrior style) and anime mecha's, this one absoluely rules among those second -gundam styled ones. I guess i'll stick to the walkers now;p
And those maps- i'm amazed. they stick to the atmosphere, and this nightfire just pwns.

Some + and - to be exact and constructive

+++++Weapons fot perfectly into the menu altrough it may may seem thet they are too big. They are not;]
+++++Your drawing style- Big, coloured weapons, with great shading.
+++++Explosions "bleeding" effect + all sparks gives me the greatest feel of exploding warmashines i've ever had
+++++Maps maps, and once more maps-i've never seen any mappack ftting so much for this theme, and so well made. I bow down before your herd work in there.
+++++Interface graphics also fits perfectly.
+++++I can feel the passion to gundams in here, big thanks and respect for that.
+++++Details and hard hard work- again thanks and respect for that.

-Some sound quality differ from others, but i'm aware that a mortal modder cant do much about it just with commonly used software.
-I would make the the dome-like, round barrier in nightfire instead of square one.
-on ctf_minerva2 i've encountered brown missing scenery(but just one as for now;p)
-Just wondering if those forced high-jumps wont flood kick on servers, but even if they do, i's still glat they're here.
-You could smoother this rainbow health bar a little. I mean...it's almost 2 years old, and still looks like it's less than 30 colors in there;p I forgot about that myself untill now.

Note that minuses are very, very small and i still consider this mod best mecha' one at the moment.

OMG I freakin love you . You are my second best human being aside Milkman Dan (tho I doubt he's human). I love those additional weapons. If you need any ideas on new weapons ( if you ever want to make additional weapon packs) just contact me . I have great experience in weapons.ini modding and I always have some new ideas but I'm just too lazy to make my own mod. I'm helping a friend of mine with his mod , which he will release shortly .

I just tried the maps. Every single one is amazing. The atmosphere in isolde is unprecedented, astroidbase has artillery cannons i have never witnessed before, kyushu is just plain beautiful, and nightfire is top-quality R/Sage.

Ivahn, I would've done the same with nightfire :\

Looks like an awesome mod to me. Unhappily not my cup of tea but I can say that you get the point of a pro modder Numgun. The guns are nicely made and I like the models. The shading is made bravely too.  8)

Only thing what I see to be weird to me is that the in-game guns ain't "big" like those on inteface ....I mean, some weapons looks in interface larger and bigger than other but the others are bigger in-game.
Dunno how to explain it exactly, I hope you will get it. :-\

And you even gave a credits to me. That's not usual that somebody do so.... I'm really glad of it. Now I respect you as a high quality modder...  ;)

...I wish you good luck and would be happy to see more of your work in future. Maybe some other style like modern weapons from you could be more likely to me...  :)

And BTW try playing this without rendering bullet trails(in the soldat setup) . Lasers look ubercool with that

if he had 4 chainsaws maybe. im not making fun of you is this post either, cause they do look like chainsaws.

the issue is, if i slap something on the back of the chest of a gosteck, it doesnt stick out behind, it moves the chest forward. so i wonder how he did it for that pic.

Yea, sry for not including the ailestriker (that wing thing). I totally forgot. Its the LAW btw.

But phear not! Version 5.1 is being made with over 10 alternative weapons including the xiphias rail cannon, Aile Striker-pack and the infamous ASMD shockrifle! (and much more)

Also the maps are getting a total facelift. plus ill add 2! (you wont recognize ctf_raid anymore ; )

And bugs are fixed aswell!

if you mean those fighters on the inf_asteroidbase, then ill say no. Maybe in crimson glory (if it will be free) ill have vehicles like those fighters.

And those scorpion tanks are just sceneries. so you cant ride em. : (

And what characters do you mean btw?


Best designed maps for battles with bots, so they are now more difficult to beat.

Battles with bots are great, but they never get to cap neither flag on some maps because of the frequent swarming of enemies. Ill fix that by removing and moving few spawnpoints.

A week ago my PC got ****ed so that its totally out of order and I cant do anything about it until who knows when, Luckily tho I have every single file I had from the mod on a CD, so I lost nothing.

So in other words: this mods progress has fully stopped for now.

BTW numgun, fabulous mod!!!! Ranks up there with Special Forces and Heretic (personally, I like it better than Mecha Soldat (no offense to Ivan).

I just tried this mod last night,and quite frankly this replaces my default Soldat.  I've neverbeen too fond of mechs, but the modded blood on the gosteks and the explosions (especially when they are combined, blow somone up and that beautiful modded blood flies out)  have changed my mind, I absolutely love this mod.  Five stars my good sir.

Ok, ill do something about the steyr, but ill leave the barret because I love it being so loud and a crappy sound. it just rocks. The steyr hurts my ears sometimes so ill fix it up.

and btw, as school computers have a paintshop pro, I made a new steyr replacement OF DOOM!

After reading that, I thought I will. And I did. Now the config is ready. along with the weapons.
And currently there are over 35+ weapons in total. As for the gosteks, no there wont be any other.

And I gotta say the mod is only an inch from being ready. maps are done, WM tested fully, weapons are ready. and sounds are ready too.

Glad to hear compliments but the mod has a weapons.ini already. Remember to check the ''Use modified weapons'' box in the configurator program. And the WM works only on your server or when youre playing against bots offline.

And as Keron concurred, This IS the last version of the mod and the last thing Ill do for now is a big advertising poster which Ill stick everywhere over the net.
And also a website for the mod since the moddb crew said itll ban the mod if I dont have one.

i changed some stuff and added some stuff,like dragon robots for the blue guys (bots) changed some weapons and added my chaosblade also some new helmets but for the rest everything rlly good like i said i also found the weapon.ini well balanced i do understand this is the last version but will u keep making maps,i enjoy playing them.the spaceship is so fucking awsome and the teleports in the spacestation i have no clue how u done that the bots even use them,also the waypoints are great (bots cap as fast as possible) i like the maps,ive been looking for the same themed maps and i only found like 5 but not waypointed :( so to end the story u still gone make maps space themed ?

Hahaahha! Thats the reason why made the mod and especially maps that are waypointed.
I also didnt find enough the type of maps I wanted, so I made them myself.

But as for new stuff or anything, nah. Im moving on to coding and 3D modelling to make a mecha based game/mod in the future.

Also, I should be able to make the website along with all the descriptions later for this day, so stay stunned.

awesome mod but 1 problem i found, when you are standing in the aterillery gun (bottom) on ea's base in ctf riot if  an enemy crosses path with the artillery gun sight, the gun blows them up.

(it automatically fires!!!)

btw does any1 have he gundam wings mod made by numgun, if so please attach so i can download thx.

Jarno, the ''wings'' are in the mod. I renamed them as the aile-strikerpack.
Its a bit updated too, added 2 thruster units to it to make it look even better.

Btw, ctf_raid was a bit unsuccesful map I made. It was ment to be like Inf_breakin, but with artillery cannons for both sides and the terrain more flat and longer. But I didnt have the inspiration to continue it. sorry for that : (

And I didnt really understand that part that it automatically fires, and the enemy is supposed to blow up if they get into the front of the cannon. Its even really entertaining when it happens.

Some are still using their original reload sound.
The Deagles, Laser Steyr, Minigun, Minimi and SOCOM still reload the same way they did before :(

Sorry but no, the construction of the map was completely bad for bots and if id needed to make it
something that is actually possible to waypoint, it would require total deformation of the map which I didnt feel to do. But I did get loads of nice ideas from it.

Every single WEAPON in ERA 5.1 is made from scratch by me. Every single one.

Also If I remember right, the excalibur was turned upside down in Ivan's MS 2.3

This mod is amazing. I'm really not into full-mods but this one definitely is one I enjoy.
I have downloaded a separate soldat file meant just for this, complete with bots I made and everything.
So now it seems as if it's a totally different game.

I just wish it was possible in Soldat to have players automatically download mods from servers so that there could be servers for Eradication Wars or something.
Kinda like Unreal Tournament or Counterstrike: Source.

Thanks for the feedback everyone!

As some might have noticed, im still updating the mod and ive done quite alot so far. I reshaded all of the weapons and added new muzzle flashes to make every shot even more dramatic. Also, another 12 weapons have been added.
Also I planning to make atleast 1 more ctf map and a few dm maps.
Suggestion for weapons and maps are welcome.

Here are some suggestions:

About maps: I saw screenshots with a jupiter background, But it seems you didn't succed.
That was a great idea(especially for DM). I hope you will finish it.
And you could do a level with an futurist industrial site.

about the weapons: the new weapons seem very interisting!
This RC raven Claw(3rd secondary weapon) is good but I hope we still be able to use the RC Eradicator.

About the noises(Sfx): I think you don't have to change anything(it's great like that). But if you have a wonderfull idea put it in.

Btw I also changed over 60% of the sounds and added another 20 of new weapons.
Also every kit is now totally new and fits with the theme much better.

And I also removed the maps and stopped all developement on them.
Ill release all the maps in the current version in the mapping section for anyone who wants them.
I did this for 2 reasons:
1. Save alot of filesize.
2. Most people dont play on the maps.

This month most probably, I still have to playtest to iron out all the crap to make it perfect and possibly Ill add 1 more weapon. So this month. Maybe.

I use my 1337ninjamadskilz to do the weapons on my old, but trusty psp 9. (paint shop pro)

Oh come on! Anything that is mecha or future related. Melee weapons for instance.

I was told the default.txt file couldn't be modded, but I can see the results- is there some kind of reason we aren't allowed, or??

Yes it can be modded, its just that notepad screws it up if you have some option on in it, cant remember which one since Im using Textpad 4, its really good.

6.0 is lookin' really hawt there. I don't really care about the weapon balance, though, since I'm probably not going to play offline or with friends that much. Just make it not suck complete and total ass, and I'll be happy. I'm more concerned with the graphics looking nice and the sounds not hurting my ears.

You can count on that.

I left the WM unfixed since I mostly dont play offline either and when I do, I like the original settings more. (Every weapon is missing the Recoil = 0 part so the WM will never load up)

I still have the manual left to fix and release the maps seperately.

Btw, any idea for knife replacements? (Just wanting to have total 50 selectable weapons.)

The mod looks really nice I love the sounds! but shell drop sound is a bit loud though.

The font.ini did not load for some reason is id have it in the mod folder.
Otherwise all else did. Thanks for the tip.

And I have more quiet shell drop sound if you want.

But is there a way to run it with Mod Starter? I like using one program to switch from one mod to another. Landwarrior is my #1 right now, but if I can get ERA to run in Mod Starter, it might take the top spot. :D

Eradication wars works slightly different than any other mod.

You have to start it via the Eradication-Wars.exe, It will NOT work with the Mod Starter.
It will only load everything else except the weapons and soldier graphics if you attempt to start it with the Mod Starter.

So my only advice is to back up the interface and the text files and the power up kit files.
Or alternatively just reinstall soldat if you want to play another mod.

I was fooling around with the REA files today and this is what I did. The weapon models, gosteks and sounds are ERA'd, but everything else is stock Soldat. Is there any other way around this?

Everything is overdone and to big in this new version.

Some news:

1. No, im not going to make a mod starter ver of this mod. Its a Total Conversion. And I'll keep it like that. Also if I knew coding, id probably make a new config, but thats another story.

2. Some time ago when Espadon popped up with his astonishing and precise work that I had an urge to upgrade ERA to 7.0 with alphatransp. , more interfaces to choose from and so on. But that plan was crushed due to the almighty ''real life'' things I have and my parents have the power to effect me too. So there wont be no stuff for soldat from me for a long time.

Things might change though, just wish me luck : p

Hopefully you can find some time, since I'm a mechanophile and I love mech mods [wish there were some mechwarrior-style mechs here like Ivan had though ;)] I'm...technically outlawed from all games and associated stuff but...somehow I make up science projects and instead do modding xD

Sorry to hear that but I have the same problem even without the mod installed.
My whole soldat is malfunctioning and Im not sure if ill get to play it much at all.

If you people are intrested in more of my work, you can check out a fun game called Cortex Command (http://www.datarealms.com) which im playing and modding really hard at the moment. Its not finished but the devs keep releasing new test builds every now and then.

Hey, I have a quick question. When I play Soldat without mods (I have 3 different Soldat folders with different total mods) I don't have any problems. When I try to play the Eradication Wars mod I downloaded last night, I constantly get an error message (didn't get it the first hour I played, and then it started popping up more and more often). Same with the LandWarrior mod I got this morning. I forgot the name of the error, but I have to press "OK" about 20 times or so and it lets me continue playing until the error happens again. Anybody have this problem too?

BTW: VERY NICE MOD. Would be a little better if the Gosteks could be edited to be bigger or something, more "mecha-looking" I guess. Is there any way to make the players not run so fast?

EDIT: I just started playing ERA again and, once again, had no problems for 20 minutes or so and then the error popped up again. It says

"Access Violation at address 0053DA72 in module "Soldat.exe". Read of address 00000000"

Any help?

I think its the font.ini that messes it up. The mod is rather outdated but it should work even with the WM's that turned back on since 1.4.2

Try doing this:

Go to Soldat/Txt/Font.ini and open the .ini file with a notepad

Replace everything with this code:
