What are some things you do when playing that others might not that you consider to help you play?
For me I have certain songs for each mode whether its R&B for climbing or Rap for Ctf.
Alson when i play i never lay my hand down on the mouse but only touch it with 4 fingers.....im more accurate for some reason.
What about you do you wear lucky underwear?

I always leave a lot of space for my mouse to move around, and I only play well if I place my keyboard in a certain position, otherwise my arm feels cramped after a while of playing.

Remove my mouse pad. I aim better that way.

I always play one single song/music in winamp until I think it's not helping me to relax and play better, then I'll just BRB and change music. I also always leave a box of tissue and refilled water bottles in front of my computer desk, so I don't have to walk out to grab a drink or whatever. I just drink while playing.
I constantly arrange my keyboard and mouse until I feel comfortable. The drawer beneath the top where my monitor is on my table holds my keyboard and mouse, and has this little edge that sticks out. For some reason, I like to have my wrists touching this edge (not sharp, its rectangular).

Typical Soldat Session for Pragma:
- DigitalGunfire.com queued up on Winamp in the background - great angry stuff for fragging.
- A drink, usually cola but sometimes coffee, to sip during respawns and between matches.
- Cat likes to sleep in my lap during coding sessions, so she's taken to doing this during Soldat.
- My wife's DJ headphones to block out all ambient noise* from the neighborhood.
- Mental list of witty combacks for 'n00b' comments.
(* This really was a nice apartment until recently, when the latest rash of new tennants showed up. Precious little snowflake across the hall throws 5-alarm toddler tantrums constantly, new tennants down the hall slam their door several times an evening, someone has a new parrot somewhere down the hall the other way, booming bass cars pulling up out front every hour or so until 12PM, everyone here has a cheap car alarm that sets off every time the wind blows too hard, and I'm up on a large hill in a high-rise so of course helicopters don't bother changing altitude when they fly by. So good headphones, plus violent video games, have become a much needed catharsis as of late. )
Edit: my pair is 4+ years old, but it looks like they still make 'em, if anyone's curious. The sound quality is fantastic, and the earcups block a lot of noise. I've only had very minor problems with some of the more superficial plastic bits in the band cracking.

Lol Same I usually have my keyboard and mouse in a certain position, and I also dont like wearing long shirts while playing Soldat. And I also don't listen to music usually.
And sure we all try to be nice ;D

I slouch in a really non-ergonomic position with headphones on, either connected to foobar2000 or my ipod.

Apon wearing the traditional hat and robe, I'll place some incense around the room to ward-off evil spirits and M79'ers while singing Latin hymns in praise of our Lord MM, the Holy Minimi and Saint Kalashnikov; then proceeding to purge the servers of heretics while listening to choirs from Immediate Music.
But really; I wear my camouflage design that's 3-4 years old (I have the screenshot of SSCC saved, so that it's always the same), and I'll equip my knife so that the little-tiny amount of loading time (not the delay) is taken away and ready for use when I need to get it out again.
Actually that stuff from Immediate Music is fairly good for Soldat....

I tend to get into a semi-standing position on my chair for whatever reason. Helps me out. And I listen to Great Big Sea some times, if you have heard them you would probably question it.

It turns out I listen to the most inappropriate music while playing Soldat. Yesterday I was listening to bouncy chiptunes while flagrunning. It all probably started that weekend I got the Daft Punk album Homework. Essentially, I listen to music which doesn't make me want to kill things. More music that makes me want to dance. I suppose that explains why I do all the crazy moves I do. I'm dancing. (not the thing where I jump in the air, prone, and unprone; that really is me trying to dance)
Sometimes I like to yell at the computer if nobody else is home. "RESPAWN ALREADY, DAMMIT" and the like.

I play Hip-Hop/Rap music, helps me concentrate and play better, i think about the music more than about the game and i don't get nervous i just own...

I shake alot when I'm playing soldat. I don't know if it's just that it's exctiting or something, but when things really start to get intense my whole body starts to shake.
Also, it burns when I pee.

I somehow whistle "Free Bird" when I play Soldat.
The most wierdest thing I would do while playing soldat is holding my mouse and start to lift up and down the mouse for some reason....

I have to wear comfortable clothing otherwise it bothers me but that applies to whenever I'm on the computer or playing games. I usually don't have any music playing in the background because it tends to distract me.

I have to drink soda. Usually Dr. Pepper. If I don't my mouth gets all dry and I can't play.

I have to be in a comfortable postion or I will fail and I clean my mouse and keys after they get sticky from either food or other. I also play music because it gets me "in the zone".

On a side note: My music is loud, but my Soldat sounds are even louder, so I can actually hear sounds and react quickly. Without music, I just feel like it is too quiet or something. Music gives me some kind of mood to go on, though I normally play the calm music rather than the very active type of music, since I found myself concentrating better when having calm music and remaining calm, rather than spend all my energy away.

Unique to me - I dont' listen to music.
I have my homework in front of me =O
But I don't do it while playing soldat
I also have a cup of water at the ready - no flavoured drink, they are usually sugared, make me hypo and I can't aim.

If I ever drink sweet drinks, I'd get a coca cola or pepsi twist. Cold ones of course, cuz its pretty refreshing. But I always keep a bottle of water alongside ; because cola is known to make my mouth dry.

The only thing I do is drink coffee and move my massive monitor over so I have more room for my mouse. Ever since I moved, I haven't had a chance to get a new computer desk, so currently, I'm playing with 24 inch monitor ... on a dresser of all things. It's ugly and makes it hard to play sometimes, but I still do.

But when cockbag is on I just go to spec and find a jar of vaseline....then again that's just me.

I sometimes get up and dance around a bit. I don't know why I do it, gets me loose I guess and prepares me for the battle ahead.

I always thought that Soldat players can't be anything but weird, however, after reading this thread, I think they're fucking freaks!
Btw, I can't play soldat without having my eartunnels filled with solid fudge...

Anywho, I've come to find that I get quite thirsty now and I'm way too lazy to go downstairs so I have a water bottle near me at all times. I wish I had a minibar like Eclipse.

On topic, I can't really play if it's cold, my fingers hurt. It's the same with messaging people on my phone, if it's cold my hands freeze up a little and get kind of stiff.

Then wear gloves while playing soldat, wow, that's unique and it will make you cooler for sure.

Lawl, I tried wearing gloves while playing before despite not feeling cold at all.
Makes you feel a little slower when playing compared to having no gloves though, but better than having stiff and frozen fingers right?

I always drink coffee or hot chocolate. I lean forwards with my shins pressing against a shelf on my computer desk, which has left dents that look like scars in my shin bone :/

my step dad buys a 24 pack every other day or so. And they are gone from 8am-5pm so yup=D

Every time I wipe off my mouse with a tissue. It's like a ritual. Sometimes I take off my shirt [lol?] and I make sure all the stray hair and Poptart crumbs are far away from the keyboard. And I go grab a new Poptart pack to much on while respawning. I prefer to have no music on so I can listen to movement cues.

I just play the game. Occasionally play rammstein in the background.
Also, I have my own control scheme. I dont like the default asdw scheme people play with a lot. I prefer arrow keys. Only problem is it makes using the knife hard.
