i just wanted to know now what the ppl who play 1.4.2 like more on 1.4.2
than on 1.3.1 or other versions, so...
1. why do you changed to 1.4.2?
2. what do you like more on 1.4.2?
3. what you dont like on 1.4.2?

The whole community is now at 1.4.2, I don't see a point in playing 1.3.1 still.

The first question is a bad question, because 1.4.2 is the latest and we switch to it. If you play old versions, that means you have to play on your own. I don't see a reason why you should play the older versions.

I think the weapon balance is pretty cool in 1.4.2 ; I like it. The weapon balance shall always improve with each version. Also, with BattlEye, less hackers have been able to come around (though they still exist).
3) What do you not like about 1.4.2?
I don't recall anything that is rather unpleasant for this version.

1. Because I can.
2. Maps, BattlEye, better hit registration (could be better).
3. Peanut Butter (the two don't mix well, IMO).

bader on 1.4.2 in my opinion:
i dont like the weapon balances cuz ruger is overpowered (as example),
nades are to easy to see,
the gameplay is bader imo
the graphics destroy the game cuz its a game that u have to play with bader graphic^^
good things on 1.3.1:
i like the community on 1.3.1,
all friends friends i found on 1.3.1 are still on 1.3.1
cuz they dont like 1.4.2 too,
on 1.3.1 are not as much noobs as in 1.4.2
and i like the weapon balance there
bad things on 1.3.1 atm:
we got under 15servers on that we have the chance to play,
on like 4servers are under 7ppl everytime
and on 2-3 are the most time more than 10ppl.
its just my opinion, so not everyone have to agree it.

i bought them, i didnt know that everyone starts crying if i write anything like that,
thats one more reason why i play 1.3.1 btw, there are not as much cryers and stupid ppl as on 1.4.2...

it have nothing to do with my carrier or whatever on 1.3.1,
i just want to know reasons and not wannabe spamming/wannabe flaming.

Nades: If you dont like it MOD THEM to make them smaller. I didn't notice a difference in nade seeing-ability between versions.
Gameplay: Umm... why?
Graphics: I actually think they are a lot better.

The reason there aren't as many noobs in 1.3.1: there arent nearly as many people in general playing it. Same if not higher % though of noobs.

i said that its my opinion so stop replaying on it,
your opinion is illegal?
1. I moved to 1.4+ because I like to keep up with the soldat community (99% of which moved up)
2. I particularly like the new scripting capabilities (dont know if those fit into this q but whatever) as well as the weapons balance (gets better every version) and the pretty default maps.
3. I dont really strongly dislike any of it, besides some issues that have been around since soldat was begun.

I'm going to ask nicely if you would explain this point. I don't see how the gameplay has deteriorated between 1.3.1 to 1.4.2. If anything, I'd say it has improved, especially with the addition of BattlEye. Is there something that I've missed?

First off, you can mod the game to make it look the way you want it to. That's one of the best things about Soldat. Secondly, how does improving the graphics of a game make it worse?

Regarding the two sentences I bolded:
1. Weapon balance hmm? Okay, though you can actually host a server that has 1.3.1 weapon balance.
2. So, you personally prefer a less good-looking graphics because you believe that Soldat should have such graphics for it to look nice? I personally prefer the new graphics myself, but there's one thing I'd like to tell you about Soldat:
You can mod your Soldat. You can move the 1.3.1 graphics over to 1.4.2 (if you ever play it).
Just telling you these stuff.

There has always been a strong cult following for former versions, there are even some 1.2.1 servers present afaik: people didn't like the graphical changes after 1.3.1, so no wonder they just stuck with it.

Actually, I recently downloaded as many of the previous version as I could to see what they were like (I started playing Soldat in 1.3.1), and I didn't find any 1.2.1 servers. However, 1.3.1 - 1.4.1 all still have servers.

Each version gets better and better. Yea always will be faults. Just things i don't like on 1.4.2 is the thousand one week clans...in 1.2 there were handful of clans. and everyone knew just about all the clans. Also i like battle eye...it stops hackers..but i hate the access violations..but nothing is perfect

1.2 > 1.4 > 1.3. Maybe I'm just biased because I don't like the delay on barret. I just like how in 1.2 everything dealt huge damage so fights were more fun. But 1.4 is fine, very solid and mostly balanced.

Playing today, I realized why I liked 1.2 more than other versions. Because people died faster. I know you've heard that reason before, but I just realized the reason behind it. Since people died faster, there was less time to react and, say, blow someones head off with an M79. In 1.2, if you used longer ranged guns, the M79 users had less of a chance to close the gap between you and the enemy and kill you, making the kamikaze M79 rushers less useful. It also gave people who used knife less time to pull it out after shooting their clip/barret. Also, people who used short range guns like MP5 had a much greater advantage when they snuck up on someone because their victim had less chance to get out of its effective range. The same goes for long range guns and giving MP5 (and other guns) the chance to close the gap. So basically, faster meant more balanced, which I hope happens in 1.5, which it seems to be.
