Title: Friends list
Post by: ashxu on June 24, 2008, 03:02:21 am
I'm very annoyed that you cannot save friends onto a list.

I suggest making a friends list?  ???

It isn't mmorpg.
Use pen and paper if you really can't remember your "friends".

I'd hate to see Soldat gunked up with this useless feature. Just connect with them on IRC and/or add them to your aim / msn / yim buddy list. I'm sure they'd prefer that anyway.

Don't troll. The reason there isn't a friends list is because there is no actual user accounts, you just enter your name and play. So you can't have things like friends. It's just not possible.

I agree with this statement. There is simply no way to tell who you are, anyone can just take your name and appearance.

Not even IP. People may switch computers.

But if you really want a friend-list, there's one way to do it:

Soldat players have an option to sign-up another type of account. This account has a standard USER-NAME, which will be recorded. When you play Soldat, you can choose to login into this account or just go straight into selecting your profile and play. No matter what player name you put, the system still recognises you because of your account username. Now you can create a friend-list, but it only works to people who sign-up on this type of account.

Then again, what's the point of a friends list? Why not just ask that person for his xfire, msn, or whatever directly?

Because then you have to ask them "wanna play Soldat?"

And some people log off msn to play Soldat...

Yes but not everyone haves it. Maybe they can make a option like a lobby where everyone can chat on a included irc on soldat, then they can make a right option button with add friend. If that guy is playing soldat you just can see where he's playing like xfire. But not all the people haves good computers to download all that sorts like teamspeak, xfire, mIRC it would be easy if it was builded included the game patch.

Is lobby chat going to be in 1.5? If yes then I'll scream for joy.
