Fairly simple, I think that all topics that apply should have to be polls to show the level of support, that way michal and beta testers can take quick looks and see if the overall community wants this idea put into the game.
-
No, because the poll responses shouldn't be as simple as something like "Yes" and "No." Opinions on ideas in these forums generally aren't as clear-cut as that. For example, there would need to be one for, "I support most of this idea," "I support some of this idea," etc, and Michal or the beta testers would probably be forced to read the entire thread anyway to see exactly what these people support and what they would change, thus eliminating the entire purpose of the poll, which was, as you stated, a quick look to see how the community feels about the idea.
It's nice to have polls as an option for ideas that don't contain much detail and allow for pretty clear-cut responses, but I don't think it should be required for each thread to use them.
-
There are 5 options in the polls... just trying something new here...
-
Nah, althought maybe some suggestions could have a poll attached to them, but not all.
-
Definitely.
Stickied :D

Thanks Stalky I feel like a lvl 31 interneter now

Haha lol Sexy Man...
Very nice and easy idea...that i couldnt figure out.

Well you should be able to elaborate on ideas, and maybe add to them/fix them..

Pretty simple, if teh commmunity likes it the poll will show it. Take my other thread for example: http://forums.soldat.pl/index.php?topic=311.0
People aren't really behind it too much and the poll shows that. That way Michal and beta testers can look at the poll and see that right now the community doesn't want this idea put into game.
-
It wouldn't work with only a "yes" or "no" poll. Many suggestions are rather general and the details would affect one's opinion of the topic.
It sort of like this poll here- I wanted to click "yes" but I didn't want just a yes/no poll. no poll at all would be better than not having the option to say "maybe" or "only if..."

Said this before
There are 5 options in the polls..
-
5? why 5?
-
I believe 5 is just the limit that is set on amount of poll options so there aren't a ridiculous amount of options put in the polls.
-
Yes, this would be cool! Im always for it!
-
Why not Sexy Cross? ;)
-
Yes, Yes this is a very good idea.

Yes, Yes this is a very good idea.
This "suggestion" has been added to the rules for this forum.
From the rules:
# My final guideline is the most important - post your suggestion with a poll, if it's appropriate. This is a perfect way of indicating how popular your idea is. Also, try not to post your poll with lots of silly options - we're not trying to be funny here, we're making serious suggestions for Soldat. Making polls like this is asking for people not to take you seriously. A simple 'Yes' and 'No' will suffice.
Since it is in there, and that is also a sticky.... I'm unstickying this to clean up the forum.

Sorry for posting in such an old topic, but when I tried to make a topic with poll (with button "poll" next to "new topic"):
(http://img222.imageshack.us/img222/33/screen4pollcd4.th.jpg) (http://img222.imageshack.us/my.php?image=screen4pollcd4.jpg)
and clicked "post" it told me that "You are not allowed to access this section" :/ Eventually I obtained a poll by creating an ordinary topic without poll and then adding it. However it isn't very nice way to make a poll. Could you fix it?
And a comment for this discussion: I think that polls would do fine in almost all topics, of course if the idea is more complicated then poll should contain more options than yes/no, at least "I agree partially/Idea is nice, but it should work in other way". MM would look first at the poll, ad if the idea would be supported by majority, then he'd look in posts and find out details.
Maybe poll should be added to any topic by default? I mean, when creating topic you should always see this fields above the text, where you can make a poll. I think more people will add polls to their topics then.

From this topic: (http://forums.soldat.pl/index.php?topic=16630.0)
- Track down and fix the "can't create poll" problem (http://forums.soldat.pl/index.php?topic=16140.msg182817#msg182817)

I think there can be both F12 and F11 as poll votes, then you write what you chose and why. The poll is simply something so people can get a fast look at how many it is that supports it.

Completely agree, but I think that the current system is fine. If the thread starter wants to gain support for the idea, he would add in the poll to show how many people supported him.

Everytime I've an suggestion for Soldat, I always create a poll. I support this idea.
