I have opened a new website dedicated to Soldat Server Scripts for the community, packed full of features. This is now the Official Server Script Database for my Script Core.
Soldat Central - http://soldatcentral.com/ (http://soldatcentral.com/)
Some of the major features include:
- Script Search
- Compile Tests to confirm the script will compile on the latest script core
- Favorite Scripts
- View contents of all files before downloading them
- Comments, authors can control users comments on their scripts
- Ratings and Scores
- Script of the Week/Month
- Profiles for listing all of a Author's scripts
- Password Protected Scripts
- Script List with Categories
- Download/View/Ratings Counter, things Authors like to know!
- Upload scripts directly to PHP-Commander rented servers
- RSS Feed for latest uploaded scripts
- Forum for Website/Core suggestions and other junk
- "Post Template" for uploaded scripts, that can be used to post here on Soldat Forums. (Example post template here) (http://forums.soldat.pl/index.php?topic=29639.0)
- Random quote of the day, for no apparent reason.
It has been coded with Script Users and Authors in mind. Registration to the website is not required to view and download scripts, it is 100% free for the community to use. Please register (http://soldatcentral.com/index.php?page=register) and rate scripts to help get the ball rolling. Also if you are a script author, it would be great if you upload your existing and new scripts on this site.
Huge thanks to the following for helping create and test the website: (Random order)
SpiltCoffee (http://soldatcentral.com/index.php?page=profile&u=2), DorkeyDear (http://soldatcentral.com/index.php?page=profile&u=4), Iq Unlimited (http://soldatcentral.com/index.php?page=profile&u=6), Shoozza, iDante (http://soldatcentral.com/index.php?page=profile&u=7), xmRipper (http://soldatcentral.com/index.php?page=profile&u=5), danmer, Spkka (http://soldatcentral.com/index.php?page=profile&u=8), upnPAD.

-
Yay Thirds!
Glad it's done! Looks great and I love that compile tester!
Great job EnEsCe!
-
Very nice! I'm registering now.
... why avaliable years of birth span from 1970 to 2003? What about poor Leo? He won't be albe to register properly, he's 43 :D
Edit: It's really a great idea! Just some time ago i thought "It'd be nice to have one place where all scripts are..." - and here it is! Good Job EnEsCe!
I'm only not sure if its good to have "Scripting discussions and help" board here, in Server talk section, and "Scripting discussions and help" on Soldat Central forum? I'm pretty sure it will become messy, topics will double, you won't be sure where you read certain messages and newcomers will be confused.
The same problem with "soldat discussion" on soldat central and whole "soldat talk" section here.
I think it would be best to make a big advertisement in "Scripting discussions and help" board here saying "From now on, please discuss about scripts on Soldat Central's forum, since Soldat Central is a new website devoted to Soldat scripts" or somethink like that.
What do you think? Do you have other ideas or maybe it isn't any problem at all?
-
i was waiting for something like this... great job, EnEsCe
-
now let them scripts come!
-
Yaay I'm not last on the credits!

Tell me about it! I DID registered there and had to input 1970 as year of birth :P I feel much younger now...
-
That's really weird. Jan 1st 1970 is the UNIX epoch. Is he having the year loop starting from there?
edit: I just looked at the register page and the years start from 1960 now.
Anyways, the site's absolutely awesome, sleek looking, and useful as hell. Kudos to EnEsCe!

Oh God, you could as well be my father >.> What keeps you so close to the Soldat community?

My grandparents are younger than Leo.

yay, still on 1st page! I have a problem when I wanted to upload a script to php commander:
Is this feature not available yet, or where do I go? Also it should support multiple soldat servers in php commander.
Date Posted: September 27, 2008, 05:17:23 pm
it also needs to support explorer
Date Posted: September 27, 2008, 05:20:32 pm
AH! Yes, that's the problem, it doesn't work in internet explorer, or Maxthon (what I use) since it's based on IE. Firefox works.
Date Posted: September 27, 2008, 05:22:39 pm
yea, it supports multiple server, gj EnEsCe
EDIT, btw, I know a feature, if you want to put the same script on multiple servers you own, so that there would be multiple ports, that would be cool, also if you wanted to add multiple scripts to a server or servers, there could be like a little "Add to Cart" button to add scripts to your cart, then "Checkout", when you want to put them all on your server(s).

Yeah I had to set it as 1970 because of unix epoch time, having it under 1970 would cause issues.
And mike, if you do not enable Javascript in Internet Explorer, when you check that box nothing will happen.
-
Nice site. Just one thing: When entering the Forum and clicking on the register link, I get the message Forum registration is disabled. I'm assuming you're using the custom registration page? If so you might want to make that link redirect.
-
I tried registering, but it says it is disabled.
Why?
-

Not really, you can use negative timestamps to store dates before 1/1/1970.
Also, in the forum it doesn't let you change your profile.
-
Register on the home page, http://soldatcentral.com/ , and you will be able to access the forums.
(Top of the left menu, under "My Account" is where it should be.)
-
Worked. Nice.
[EDIT] Goddamnit, everytime I try to login it says either password incorrect or Password security has recently been upgraded. Please enter your password again.
Then after a few tries it comes up with some thing asking for my email, and when I put it in and continue, it says that an email has been sent with a link to change my pass.
WTF.

Yes, but in the forums when you click on "Profile" the normal bar on the left that lets you change the parts of your profile, etc aim/msn/signature/etc, isn't there.

I made a post about that Here (http://soldatcentral.com/forum/index.php?topic=6.msg24#new) and it should explain why you can't edit those. The only thing you can really add is an Avatar, which you do Here (http://soldatcentral.com/index.php?page=portal&sub=account). (Main page again, under "My Portal")

Thanks, fixed that now. Also fixed the SMF Profile link.

What about doubling boards?
Is it good to have "Scripting discussions and help" board here, in Server talk section, and "Scripting discussions and help" on Soldat Central forum? I'm pretty sure it will become messy, topics will double, you won't be sure where you read certain messages and newcomers will be confused.
EnEsCe, do you prefer that discussion about scripts will be on SoldatCentral Forums rather then here? Or maybe you don't care?
Don't get me wrong, I like Soldat Central very much, it is a great idea and it will do fine for sure. I'm only trying to find any possible problems now, when they're easy to fix. But maybe i'm totally wrong with this and there's no issue hereĀ :-\

Nice Job.
-
Hehehe I remeber seeing that web template in irc before. Good job ;)
-
My grandparents are younger than Leo.
Tell me you're lying.
-
Very Nice job Enesce, I like how the stuff looks like :) Good Job.
-
I think it looks too plain... more colors/textures is my suggestion.
-
EnEsCe is colourblind, that's why it looks plain. :P
