I was wondering about it when I was playing public 90% of people were whining. All I want is a small command which turns off chat (chat and team chat) command could be like /offchat. I would like to see an option to mute players which I choose(but its not needed if it takes a lot of time to code)
-command which allows you to turn off/on the whole chat
f11/f12 ? :)

press "/" and then, F1, you will see, to the left of the names in the scoreboard a number for each player, that's the ID of each player, so you can proceed:
/mute "playerid"
or
/mute "playername"
Without the " ", of course

/mute is a client side command and does thus not require admin rights in the server. As for /gmute however, you would indeed have to be an admin to use. Note that there'll also be a /mute all command in Soldat 1.5.

im waiting for that /mute all in pubs

Yeah like Niko said, I think in version 1.5 there will be a /mute all command. Hooray.

If you're admin and want to make it so NOBODY can see him talk, use /gmute ID or /gmute name

Still a very good idea Bonecrusher, I like it.
Could be very handy sometimes.
