There are problems with the DNS and/or domain for the forums. Please watch http://mm.soldat.pl and http://tns.u13.net for updates, as soldatforums,com may soon become unreacahble.
The forums will (at least for now) be forums.soldat.pl, I am working on getting it online now.

PS. it took me 10 minutes to figure out that sf.com transforms into forums.soldat.pl

That made me very confused, as I have not checked these forums in (what seems to me) quite some time. I thought that I had missed some "omg new forumz evrbodi" announcement :o.
Thank goodness Google... I searched "soldat forums" to see if I could somehow find out the problem. Troubleshooting: it never fails :-X

Yeah, and either someone else bought it, MM's brother renewed it in a way which caused a DNS misconfiguration, or the registrar had a measly auto-renewal system which messed it up as soon as it expired (a few days ago, according to whois' records).

This domain is parked, pending renewal, or has expired.
Please contact the domain provider with questions.

We'll probably just stick with forums.soldat.pl.
Please encourage anyone you know to update their bookmarks, links on their site, and anything else. It will be a bit before all of the major search engines re-index this site thoroughly, so the number of people on the site and hits/month are going to be very low this month. We get huge amounts of traffic from google and other search engines because of the amount of information on our site, but as of right now, every single reference to the forums is lost.
Links everywhere need to be updated, and then we'll see the soldat forums start to show up in search engines again.

If you're using firefox, it'll eventually learn. You can also just delete old references to the old domain in your history (when the bar drops down, just put your mouse over what you want to delete and hit the delete key)

I don't totaly know how search engine programs (spiders) work, but at least for now the broken forums is at the stop of 'Soldat Forums' googled. I trust that this 'forums.soldat.pl' domain will only cause temorery disturbance, even if it does stay.

Not necessarily. The situation still has yet to work itself out. It's possible this is an easy fix, or that we can buy back the old domain for a relatively cheap price. Even if we can't get soldatforums.com back, Google will re-index us under the new domain in a short time.

its gonna take me forever to get used to this change.... im used to typing http://forums.soldat.pl daily... or close to, and pressing down.. usually faster to type.. :'(

that site PQ quoted wont work for me. i tried another 'domain value estimater' and that said:

use opera you can have 9 sites saved on the start screen and you can just click on the one you want, and you can have it like on firefox.

And unless you've sent out a mass email, there are still people who don't know about forums.soldat.pl, and not even that will get through to the ones that may only find the forum by now useless links.

"what links on google" uh, you just proved my point? I'm saying that all of the links in google are still pointing to forums.soldat.pl so as of right now google is passing pretty much none of its normal traffic this way. I will be sending out a mass e-mail, but that doesn't change the fact that there are hundreds of thousands of links out there from search engines and community sites that point to the old domain. Many of them will never be changed, even after a mass e-mail, so getting the old up and running again is worthwhile even if we plan on permanently using forums.soldat.pl.Â
The old domain is swear-filtered because the forum is littered with hundreds or thousands of posts pointing to other threads/posts, none of which will work until the old domain is up and running... so I put in a swear filter to make all of those links work again.

Not sending a mass email message to everyone = Abstinence at its worst. If you know that we're going to probably keep this domain for a year or two, why hold back? Nobody's a little afraid of having a extra email message in their inbox :)
