Well, if this is the normal problem, it happens all the time; you throw a knife, it hits and may or may not damage/kill and they become what we call, "knife eaters."  Maybe it needs to be a bit faster?

Im pretty sure thats an issue with lag, but the knife really doesnt dissappear, if you run on the ground in the area where the knife was thrown, you will find it, you just dont see the animation of it falling, kind of like sometimes you dont see a grenade explosion because of lag.

Sometimes true, sometimes not.

I often find that if you tap the drop weapon button while aiming at the ground, you see the knife hit the floor, but can't pick it up anymore. Other times, you throw the knife, it hits an opponent in the air, he doesn't die, you see the knife drop straight to the floor, you can't retrieve it from where it shows it dropped, but you then retrieve the knife from the ground where it would have landed if it hadn't 'hit' your opponent. ???

Well i dont knwo about the tapping thing.  but when it hits your opponet and he doesnt die, but you see it hit, its lag. thats why if you go to the spot it would have landed if it didnt hit, it is there, it missed him just barely enough but either him, or you are lagging, so the server says it missed, and continues on the knifes path instead of following the animation of it on the ground. I notice this bug alot, and its espically when you throw the knife from lower than your opponet. but the next time someone "Eats" your knife, look at thier ping, and look at your ping.  One of the 2 are lagging, either that or the server just hit a lag spike.
