Title: Weapon.ini modding - Draw Speed
Post by: STM1993 on January 18, 2009, 05:08:38 am
A weapon.ini moddable suggestion:

You can modify the draw speed of each weapon. For example, if I were drawing my secondary weapons, I can switch to them really quickly, but if I were to draw into a weapon like the Barrett, I'd take a while to switch to it.

Typically draw speed is one second in total considering the time it takes for the Soldaten to aim properly and without considering fireinterval.

Could help in balancing a few of the guns (eg: Saw), extra moddability and possible added realism for Realistic Mode players as a choice via weapon modding.

This can work very nice...Pistol and knive should draw fast, law and saw should draw slow.

F12, This is a great idea. Like pistol would be drawn out faster and maybe minimi because its like a machine gun draws out slower.

It's hardcoded into the game's physics for all weapons as an animation, but why not be able to change the speed of the animation for each individual weapon? That'd be great.

Yeah, that would be really nice ;D

This would take quite a bit of effort.

The animations format may have to be overhauled, as I am pretty sure they run on a frame-by-frame system, and slowing down how long it takes would make it look jumpy (like watching a 30fps movie at 5 fps).

Other than that, yeah, sure.

F12 but should only be in realistic IMO

F11, Draw speeds should all be as fast as possible without seeming too "instantaneous" imo (if we were to change any draw speed settings).  Barrett may be a sniper rifle, that doesn't mean you shouldn't be able to whip it out in close combat

I say F12 but again thrown into the "Nice but unnecesary" bin.

I like it, because a minigun shouldn't take you just as much time to switch out as a knife.
I'll go F12, but it shouldn't come before anything necessary in the "To-Do-list"

F12, i especially love the idea of being able to draw knife and soccom quickly.
As for other weapons - I don't really care, but it would be a nice addition anyway.
