where when they go into over time water starts rising and drowning everything and shit gets hectic

maybe when Link-Dead comes out.

There is no water in Soldat.
And there is no overtime in Soldat.
So, I don't see any sense in this.

There is water in one of the Inf. maps, i cant remember the name atm though :(

I agree, Soldat really is Worms like game, but I think that it's "Wormed" enough :P

Actually there is water in soldat. There is this climb level were theres water after you cross this bridge then you have to do this backflip on to these blocks up the top, and theres this whole ocean on the right if you fall down.
I dunno if u understand which map im talking about lol!

Actually there is water in soldat. There is this climb level were theres water after you cross this bridge then you have to do this backflip on to these blocks up the top, and theres this whole ocean on the right if you fall down.
I'm not familiar with climb maps.
There is one way to make some "faked" water except for scenery - semi-transparent not-colliding-with-player blue-colored polygons. But this isn't true water!

*sigh* Sudden Death is a terrible idea for Soldat. The time limit itself is Sudden Death for Soldat. No need to add some kind of extra overtime WITH weird effects like water polys rising up from nowhere in the map.
Just overtime is enough.

Climb maps are not official maps, though this map sounds like Inf_Moonshine.

we should soldat make also an turn based game, and give the soldats that they choose weps every turn
and give it the ninja rope & other stuff
and the holy hand grenade (allright, you can mod an nade, but you understand)
and the maps the water is only a semi transparent tile, and the bottom polys are hurtable, so there is no "real" water in soldat

While this is a fairly good idea, for the most part ignore

Thats what teh m97 is for. Soldats have them boots with rockets, they r not jumpin lol.
But a script for this would be awesome...

I find it funny enough. ;| Fan works are always good, especially if there arent many of them.
Anyway, back to topic.. I kinda love the idea of sudden death, but it can be scripted.
As for rising water - it would require maps to support moving polygons and/or sceneries, which is not possible right now (and I doubt that it ever will be, though it's something worth adding). Plus again, this is an obvious worms rip-off which is no good.

Because the kids in Realistic Survival are just that cool, we actually played worms in Soldat on Nuubia.
It was just us with and m79, we had two 'actions'. We could use a full tank of jets, hop twice, or fire for each action. Then the next person went.
Fun times.

Exactly ;/
And the fact that soldat has guns like MP5 and Steyr doesn't make it a counter-strike rip-off. The fact that it's 2D doesn't make it a worms rip-off either. There's a ton of other games that are 2D and/or have similar weapons.
Soldat is only compared to those games because they're popular, so people who are not familiar with soldat will get a clearer picture of what it's like.

Honestly though, even though there are games which have similar elements, some of them can really differ from one another due to some special things.
Compare Soldat with Liero or some other similar game. How many 2D run & gun games allow you to:
1. Fly with jet boots
2. Backflip
3. Prone
4. Use a chainsaw as a melee weapon
5. Throw a knife
And many more other things.
