Hello, A* members and INF players in general.
In case you don't already know, Graveyard INF is back online, same IP, same settings. Yay!
Amida (previous clan leader) is back online after experiencing internet problems for several weeks.
So I resign and will simply co-lead from now, while Amida is officially back to being a clan leader.
X-Fire doesn't seem to be used much by A*'s, especially with the fact that it causes lag for some people. Members of A* are still welcome to join on our clan page (http://xfire.com/clans/soldatallstars/) and add each other to their list, but our main way of communication and setting up CWs and gathers will be
IRC channel.
Its name will be kept private for now. If you are a member of A*, post here and I'll PM you. Alternatively, if you are not registered, you can e-mail me at loner.n07(at)gmail.com
We also have a site, which is still work-in-progress, but already has info about the clan.

Graveyard INF has been down for more than a week already, and there's no word from its owner about when and if it will be back again.
So far Fractured INF seems like the best alternative, so if you don't have better suggestions - let's play there just as we did on Graveyard INF. This way we won't loose each other and will still have some great INF matches together.
Now about clan itself.
Our current clan leader hasn't come in contact with us for a long time, even though there are still unanswered questions about clan's future and some pending requests from players to join the clan.
I (A*|L[one]R) have been offered to be the new clan leader (because Fuz is a lazy bum ;| ). I don't mind this position, and even though I have never led a clan (or anyone/anything else now that I mention this), I'll try to do a good job in at least keeping it alive.
However I cannot just take this position without anyone's approval, so I'd like to ask you ask you:
Do you have anything against this decision of me becoming the clan leader?
Or would you recommend someone else for this position?

Send the link to this thread to any A* members you see, so that most of us at least know what's going on.
I will try to find a better way for us to communicate.
Possibly an IRC channel, but any other ideas are welcome.
upd: XFire seems like a good alternative to IRC, since IRC might be quite confusing for those not experienced with it.
upd: Basic clan page is set up, but there's still lots to work on.
At least XFire seems to have everything we need, even a simple forum.

You will make a fine leader for the meantime. Right now all we need is someone more active, and clearly you are.
An IRC channel will do fine as well - ill see to it that i can find the others around here...

Yeah, we were gonna make a site/forum/etc, but never got our hands on it. :/
Hopefully it'll change soon, but website will probably be no sooner than I'm done with school.

Right, Amida too. But he disappeared and from what I heard, plays on random servers under random nicknames, so I don't even know what to think..

Man, don't bother with a forum. It keeps you just with your clan members and away from everyone else. Some random forum isn't going to grab the attention that INF needs.

Forum will be used primarily as a space for in-clan news and announcements, it's not meant to grab attention

Sorry, I'm not sure what you mean. What does fracs have to do with it?

Right now All-Stars is inactive and i'd like to figure out why, but the irc channel has been rather empty.

Hello. Sorry for not keeping in touch with everyone, but i'm not in the mood for soldat anymore and really need a longer break from it. Also, since I will have to return my laptop back to college soon, my time on computer will be pretty limited after that. :/
As for other members - i can only guess. Some split between 1.4.2 and 1.5 (I will be on 1.5 once im back to soldat). Might also be exams, now that it's the end of the school year for many people (fortunately I'm already done with mine :P). But the main reason, i think, is the fact that Graveyard is no more, so everyone is playing on different servers in different versions.
We simply need a good non-laggy alternative to Graveyard and let everyone in clan know where we all should play.

I don't play Soldat that much anymore since 1.5 has come out and Graveyard has been taken down. But once a suitable USA infilitration server (that isn't laggy or is abused by admin(s)) I hope for everyone to return and start to play again including myself.
I'll try my best to be on msn and irc when I can.To be honest this is more of a group of friends than a clan so I doubt it could die, kind of like the <3* clan which i'm glad to see are returning.

INF mod is broken at 2.6.4, I have also shut down my INF server and wait for next server release.

Well we already spoke on irc and I guess fixed it. but I put it here for reference:
Time is now in ticks rather then in seconds 60 ticks = 1 second.
normally in soldat.ini it would look like this
Blue_Points_Time=5
ie bravo gain a point every 5 seconds as the time is now in ticks you need to take that value times 60 ie.
Blue_Points_Time=300
same thing also goes for htf where time is now also in ticks.

U13 INF is our home now, I'll try my best to play there because at the moment my ping is crazy (never stopped me before though right? :D).

I think all the inf servers are effed up :\ they go crazy the score board for blue it gose up by 20 or 30 in 5 sec the points :\

You are right about U13.. but Leo's seems to be working fine.. so Leo's is now our home inf server for the time being.. we'll all have to adjust to realistic mode.

Well I managed to get two A*members to play with me in leo's inf yesterday and I was amazed how fast it increased in players. It also helped spamming his other servers for players using the /all command :D.
The AK is really powerful in realistic which is great, shame about the recoil though :P. I was hoping to see some old players from 1.3.1 there like snip, enigma, vilho and Hello kitty but no success, i'm guessing they quit? :(
I want all Allstar members to atleast give Leo's realistic inf a try.. It has inf_Industrial :-*

Yep, I'm usually a CTF player, but I've always wanted to try INF clan. Also, playing CTF helps you in overall skills of Offence and Defense.

Well I tried running one awhile back, and it worked fine and didn't seem to lag too much, but my internet gave out as soon as a 4th person joined the server. Every time, too. As soon as a 4th joined, the connection dies.

Problem seems to be that theres no good inf server on 1.5. I talked with Joey and Antihero about that stuff on SNI ;D Other thing is, that some players don`t want to leave 1.4.2, which is really stupid... whateva, i miss mofo and sho and some leet inf games... =`(

You guys should start paying more attention to the lobby...Look for #FU inf server (Ger), and U13 inf (USA)...The latter however seems to have a problem with users that haven't downloaded the 1.5 patch though. Don't know why. I always idle those 2 for hours and no one comes...They all switched to leo's...Hey leo could you please host a normal inf? You're popular enough to make it work >_>

Hey you'd be even more of a contributor to the inf community, and come on leo there's at least 20 guys here on the forum which both you and I know, and they all want some good inf servers. (And you're famous for the quality of your servers...)

Thanks for the kind words but my box is already overloaded :( Can't take another server. If in the feature I can get a better box we'll see ;)
